I loved him as a prospect but he was also stuck behind Farra last year. I’m concerned we would pay significant overs on a player with no real runs on the board. The right player to target though.

Also Larkey ain’t a spring chicken but Trembath and Matlock have a chance to go together.

Walter is the no.1 player I'd be targeting. Kid is going to be the number 1 full forward for a decade, maybe behind Sam Darcy, maybe.

If you could get him with a good deal by alleans. But like i said i would be saving the farm for a need.

Think you're right he needs to be a priority target. But Larkey and Trembath are already a fantastic pair, so while adding Walter would be adding a genuinely different type of key forward, and one with a really high ceiling, it would also be investing in a part of the ground we're already relatively ok in.

By contrast, our key defender situation is below average. Yes there's Thredgold and Dawson on the horizon, but I think we need a good-to-great option to steady the ship for the next few years at least.

And 2x tall defender, 1x lockdown defender, 1 winger.

That’s the roles I would target.

Walter is a great talent but I’d rather back in Trembath and Whitlock and of course Larkey (he is only 27).
