This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

A bit left field, but what are people's thoughts on Lachie Whitfield? Still performing at an elite level, but turning 32 in July and contracted until 2027. I'd say we could get him cheaply in a trade compared to Merret, and we all know he was a mad Hawks supporter before being drafted

Seems like Finn would be an even harder target and I think Curtis will be a RFA so more avenues to bring him over.
But, absolutely the O would be an incredible get looking at his improvement curve.

It mine boggling to think that in todays day and age, one person within a multi million dollar organisation had the final say in such an important decision. Bloody marvelous

I didnt i wanted him ultimately to be traded i have said though that at the time list spots were an issue for us but again the better play was to let him be traded and figure out the list spots i do think maybe the value would of taken a bit of a hit due to people not really paying alot to trade up in the draft e.g north and us with the blues but ultimately its better then having a guy on your list that loses value and doesnt want to be there

I do think both clubs from the media stand point were both poor i think the deadline thing given from you guys was poor but i also think we were more poor

I think it will build as the season progresses and they continue to get flogged. They will be unable to deny that the club needs to rebuild.

There were credible reports that Rosa had already done a deal to use the picks obtained for Merrett in a deal for the No.1 pick.

Essendon fans should be asking Welsh why he didn't think having either (the best) Duursma or Duff-Tytler on your list was better than holding onto a disillusioned Merrett.
