Hinge in is an eyebrow raiser,.didn't exactly set the world in fire in SANFL, better perform.

Otherwise as expected, smaller and faster and called on the available experience.

Glad Maley stayed in, has some potential.

The 5th player on our bench is going to change week to week depending on the oppo. When we’ve faced teams with a forward playing 2nd ruck, like Sam Darcy and Dan McStay we will play Nankervis/Dowling in that 35% game time 5th bench player, whereas when we faced teams someone with a genuine 2nd ruck like Freo did with Sean Darcy

Excellent changes

We've reverted our 5th bench player from a useless part time ruck getting on the ground for 30% of the game to a genuine utility

Dropped anchors out of defense in Jones and Bond, replaced with run and ball use from Nank and Hinge. Cook goes back to the wing where he was playing well

We were playing too many average forwards. That's also been fixed, we now have a better mix

Laird isn't amazing but we all knew he was coming back in.

Nope.

People are too critical of Hinge. Our ball use from defense is diabolical with the players we have injured. We couldn't play all of Murray, Borlase, Jones, Bond and Michalanney in the same team. Now we have ball use options. Cumming, Cook, Nankervis, Hinge, Milera is MUCH better

And playing guys like Dowling and Edwards isn't going to fix our ball use out of defense, because they're midfielders. We'd have to bring those guys in for Soligo. Maybe we should have done that but at the same time, maybe we should give Soligo a run to build form against by far the easiest team yet

Owing to the fact we're never going to drop Keays and we were always going to bring back Laird, the side looks much much better than last week

so we bring back Hinge after 5 weeks of no running, and have 5 other half back flankers in the team but can't bring in Edwards after having 30 touches.

I thought Nicks was the culture guy, but how could young players not become demoralised by his selections?

Hinge coming off an injury and a half a SANFL game, have we not learnt not to play underdone players ??

We don't deviate from Nicky's November pecking order. It's set in stone for the season and it's always next man from the list whenever anybody higher up drops out

Dowling is a better wingman than Nankervis. Hinge can play wing/def. Bond is stiff to be dropped.
