Training 2026 Training Reports

LDU was training separately from the main group for a brief stretch before heading to the rooms for the last half of the session.

Harry was not there today, I even overheard Colby and later a staff member tell an enquiring supporter that “Harry’s not here today”, no explanation as to why so far, but I would assume it’s a personal commitment.

Must be carrying something then, right. That's bastard timing. He'd be capable of killing GWS

I think he's just on an altered regiment. Like three weeks ago the last time I was at training, he did the same thing; trained separately/off to the side during some of the larger team drills.

Played that same week (and every subsequent week) and has been fine.

John Holt
Geez you have a great memory Whippet!

I actually met Johnny Holt at the big North Story celebration dinner at the Exhibition Building some years back. I think he was rapt that I remembered him and that I recalled he was recruited from The Basin.

He used to work at Dunlop iirc in Bayswater. A schoolmates mum worked with him and we got her to get an autograph from him :-)

Blamires going to be an out this week?
People saying he didnt look great at the captains run this morning.
Can anyone confirm?
It would be good timing to "manage" him and bring in another player. Maybe Hardeman, Banch or Konstanty.

Blamires outside run and defensive spread will very important against GWS. He is a mature body and he is very young, not sure why he'd need to be managed when he is playing his role consistently.

It's more than convenient.

It's closer than Richmond and Jolimont are to the MCG.

It needs to be leveraged into a 10-15k AFLW venue.

There's a $4b rail station open and paid for servicing it.

There's no other ground in the city area serviced as well, now with the Metro tunnel, it's also accessible to the East and South East directly as well.

It really should be the immediate strategy for the club.

And if you actually made it say 17k, why not piss off Bunbury and Perth and play our home games vs GWS and Gold Coast at Arden Street!!

Was Colby with mids or forwards?
Everytime I see his name I think of this..

Might have to invest in one of these bad boys for when we come back to Perth in a couple of months..

Pick him at your own peril
I copped pretty much every injury going around to start the season. I need to gamble on a couple of trades, he might only be a short cash play, but jeez he looked good down back for you guys.

My thinking is, and correct me if you think I'm wrong, Zurhaar's a step above guys like Logue and Corr as a third tall down back. He also has a real bit of mongrel in him that could suit the defensive portion of the ground. Comben, Zurhaar, Pink/Logue/Corr, looks a lot better. Then with Trembath and Larkey forming a promising partnership and competing really well up forward, the Roos can surround them with more smalls as they bring the ball to the ground. Especially with Darling waiting in the wings to be a third tall.
