I heard Zac Bailey was seen buying a membership to the Royal Fremantle Golf Club.

I think the issue with the first two is they wont be overly realistic.

So much so that we might be better off focusing on more realistic options like the third name mentioned. If we only chase Allan later he might just re-sign and we're looking at another Bolton situation in a few years.

Bloody love that Bolton is playing for us btw but there was an opportunity early in his career to bring him back. It would've been for **** all btw. We hesitated and he ended up staying at Richmond until his value went through the roof.
I recon getting Bolton when we did, albeit at a greater cost was better for our footy club.

He wasn't moving the needle for us when he was drafted, we were in a massive hole. He now comes to the club with grand final experience x3 which is invaluable for such a young group.

I can see that argument but now we've got Bolton and Jackson as former premiership players and a strong core of leaders we don't really want to be trading heaps for a player we could've got for a throwaway pick.

If you threw the names in the hat on who you’d like Darcy Wilson and Zac Bailey would be right up there.

Small forward/mid to replace Switta and rotate with Bolton and Reid and an elite winger.
Couldn’t get both, but tilt at both and see if we get a bite.

Bailey would be great move from Walls. 27 in September, been there and done that. Be great for the next 4 years.

Ed Allan is starting to look good and would be more affordable and on the right age group.
Is Allan really putting any performances in for a 4th year player? 60% TOG and 10 touches.
I think we just like the name, probably better going to the draft with the third rounder.

We are in a situation where we need to put money aside to keep our stars so idk if we have capacity to make overly big offers. Daniel Curtin is contracted to 2029 and Warner to 2027 but idk if we can afford the latter. I would be targeting Zac Bailey. He is a brilliant mid/forward and would cost less then Warner.

Sounds like a done deal to Adelaide

Do you realise Bailey is going to command huge numbers? The reports are Brisbane with 6 x 1.2 million and Adelaide with 7 x 1.4 million. We are absolutely zero chance with Bailey.

Curtins the one we should be zeroing in on .
We should still be right in the hunt but by then we would’ve shed a couple decent contracts, whilst a couple others will probs be in (hopefully) their less earning years

Meaning we can put forward a substantial offer, not to mention if crows get Bailey , I d be pretty confident they’d be unable to up our offer by anything close to noticeably more, if at all.

Ehh, what contracts will we be shedding?

Darcy will be on less for sure

Serong, young, bray all locked long term

Dogga also locked in long term but may ask for more to keep him happy (we can always tell him tough luck but I think we will bump and extend him 1 year before his trigger tbh)

Treacy, Amiss, Reid will all need raises

Cox and Ryan drop off I guess?

If Brisbane match that deal to force a trade, maybe Curtin slides out the side and we send picks to Brisbane.
And maybe Warner will take huge unders and Sydney will let him walk as a free agent since they end up in a salary cap scandal and aren't allowed to match.

Probably similar chance on occurring.

Not shedding, but with Bolton at least the reporting indicates that he was front-ended. Could've happened with others too. Also can add eg JOM and Switta to the Ryan list (though JOM has more potential of this year being his last), but I don't imagine either were on crazy deals.

Big picture you're probably right though. We could have room for a big swing by playing around with contracts when the list in general was younger. But I'd be more confident in our ability to make Clark or McVee type moves in terms of age and status in the game. Retention is key, and not just with the future superstar tier. Guys like Chapman and especially Worner have elevated their play.

Ryan and Pearce?
They’d be some reasonable coin locked up there
Cox may be as part of trade for curtin and or looking at less

Then obviously switta

omeara too tho I assume his cash is alrwdy accounted for
likewise Mcox- which not significant in any form ,i hardly doubt he’s on minimum wage either.

Darcy’s wage as noted and I also Boltens as raised by CaseySibosadoHOF

Agree Reid and Jackson the big question marks…. I just think , providing no one else of any major value comes in over next couple years and as noted a bit of rejigging some current contracts, there still might be an option to go after Curtin,-if he’s indeed contemplating a move home - especially as looks like the crows get Bailey so as I said I can’t see them having much more to offer then ourselves by then.

Plus Warner likely choosing WC , with maybe couple others and significant increases for their top draftees they may not be able to blow too much more on marquee players without their list management model becoming a bit skewed
