Really impressive game IMO.
Plenty tough enough - constantly on the move and looking to be involved - makes very quick decisions - loves a tackle.
Perhaps most importantly, the kid is a very smart footballer.
Things like tapping it on instead of taking possession and getting tackled ... handballing in mid-air ... constantly running to the right spot to receive. The majority of current AFL players do NOT have that level of footy IQ.

He also has some serious penetration in his kicking - unlike the TEMU Dova that got drafted a couple of years ago.

The VFL game showed the same traits against the men ...

That was impressive, pressure, tough, smart etc looks good

Commentator was mispronouncing his name all day = made to play for North

It’s all g.

All kids do ket now instead of md and coke because you can’t get done by rbts. You can just say you’ve had surgery recently
Lasts an hour, not bad for your body. Potentially quite good for your mental health.

Reckon with the fairly dismal state of the world it makes sense that disassociation is the go to. Be much more worried about a player hitting too much piss/coke/ice than falling into the odd k hole.

I think his size, clear commitment to preparation, and his attitude on field all feel a lot more Boomer-like than anyone we've had since Boomer. Seems like the sort of kid committed to getting absolutely everything out of himself. And the low-intelligence comments here are a bit ****ed, to overcome the physical challenges he has playing against blokes 15cm taller than him to get drafted in the first round requires serious footy IQ which is all that really matters. Super excited for what he'll bring. A few more like him on the list and the boys might actually play like they enjoy playing together - probably haven't felt that since Petrie was in the side.

That pumped, from the moment I watched him from the start of the year, he was the one I desperately wanted to come to North. Couldn’t be more excited for this pick.

He has all the tools to be an elite small forward, one of the cleanest ground level players I’ve seen watching juniors and the fact he has a bit of arrogance about him is awesome.

Going to be a barometer for this side for a long long time to come!
Yes r_f08 you did like him from a long way out and as luck had deserted us for the last six years isn't it funny with the Carlton picks how it all came to pass and after no chance at getting him and thinking we might get Blake at our first pick we end up with the both of them, one of the best key defenders and the best small forward. In my opinion on a talent perspective, the last two draft hauls for us were potentially fantastic, as things happen in threes, next year will top it off!
Well done r_f08 on your observational skills, like Chubby with Blake , early calls and stuck fat, good to see. 🥳

Anyone know why it took us 4 minutes to register the pick? Were we taking calls from other clubs who wanted him?

It gives the Fox Footy Panel 4 minutes to match a kid to an elite modern player and reign down a world of anxiety from the get go.

And the punters wonder why players end up with mental health issues.

The currently format is the human version of the Westminster Dog Show

That's fine, clubs need all different types. So long as he's got good footy IQ, I don't really care.
Good old Corey Jones once tried to spell Phoenix with an F.
This bloke ain't no Corey Jones.

Didn't Denis Pagan once say something along the lines of "you don't win premierships with a team full of choir boys?"
True Grit.

Sick of the “is a great bloke and bleeds for the club” fallback.

Give me a hot headed hero campaigner with a strong chin that plays AFL very well every time because I love winning games of football.

Lets go Dove.
