Seems like it would be more fun modding a losing board

Most fun when you get a bullshit loss.

Hope he gets a good run in the midfield to get his hands on the footy because he won't dominate up forward on return

Why oh why did Liam Jones have to get good?

It's time to hire a full time goal kicking coach for this guy. My god is her terrible from inside 25m, he runs back 30m and rhwn has this long run up that seems to build pressure and by the time he drops the footy it's going all over the place.
Jack Watts can have two marks inside 50 but he finishes off his work which makes him a valuable player. Hogan is as bad as Levi Casboult at the moment and we should be looking to hire someone instead of ignoring the problem, fundamentally he runs in like a left footer and twists on delivery

Might be an idea to get a specialist in during off season to see if his technique, which is genuinely weird, can be reprogrammed. I know we have seen him kick straight on occasions despite it, but it makes him vulnerable to everything falling apart when under pressure. I would like to see what can be achieved by trying to teach him an orthodox run up and ball drop.

I know they say everyone has their own technique and that's fine if you don't have massive confidence issues. Franklin has 'his own' but he wouldn't know what losing confidence is, Hogan needs to make the most of his chances and this technique gives him no chance at all. Hes a professional athlete surrounded by a dozen coaches, tell him to have goal kicking with Jack Watts every night, I reckon Jeffy has been because he walks in now and kicks it at about 80% power just like Watts does and his kicking has been much better this year.

He has just about the worst lead up to a goal kick I've ever seen and it's not even comparable to Kennedy from WC because Kennedy still keeps the footy over his kicking leg, Hogan brings it from his left side and there is just so much bloody movement happening.

I know when I used to play I'd do that little step thing when I though I was right on my distance but never inside 30m, he needs to take a few walking steps and then one or two faster ones for momentum and then kick. If Rocca can turn Casboult into a half decent kick no reason someone couldn't do wonders for Hogan.

I reckon Jesse gets a pass this year. Tough year for the kid. He wasn't kicking too bad earlier in the year before all the s#it went down in his life.

I think we should employ a genuine goal kicking coach for the whole team. The comp has never been so even, so conversion is more important than ever.

He couldn't get into the game in the first half last night. However thought he worked his way into it in the second half. Took 7 marks and was stiff not to be paid a couple more. Could have had 9-10 marks. Needs to slot a couple of early goals to get confidence up. If we make finals hopefully he'll be up and running.

His second half was much better than his last 6 quarters. A couple of 50/50 frees go his way and his night looks much better.

Not sure why we expect players to come straight in a dominate after a long lay off. I'm tipping a big game from hulk next week

I love this man for coming back after what he's been through. Some people were seduced by his first year and expect far too much in light of his recent battles. If our supporters can't back him after all this, he should feel free to go home and be with his bereaved mum.

Some of us are still behind you, lad :thumbsu:

Got filthy at the old man twice last night - the first for saying something absurdly racist about Charlie Cameron, and the second for taking every opportunity to bag Hogan out every time he got near the pill.

He started to work his way in and go clunk in the second half, think the pump is primed for Port now.

No one isnt backing him, they are offering suggestions on how he can improve just like every other player on the list.

Apparently being annoyed at the club for not putting him in the VFL means we aren't backing him.
We've gotten two full games of AFL into him as opposed to one VFL game, given that Casey just had the bye. If we'd waited for him to string together 3 weeks of VFL form he wouldn't be back until the St Kilda game.
