Since his first VFL game this year, Docherty struck me as a player that won't have too many bad games through the course of his career.
I'm every bit as thrilled for acquiring Sam as I am for Patrick Cripps.............maybe even a touch more.

Did Docherty play midfield before he was drafted?
Isn't in and under like Cripps, but he is strong over the ball and a good decision maker.

Didn't know or expect him to be so handy near goal. Seems like a player who doesn't have too many weaknesses and physically filling out very nicely.
Direct slot in replacement for Scotty and IMO, long as his fitness holds up, already cemented himself in the 22.

Really happy for Sams progression this year to date.
Showing himself up as a smart one touch player with a booming kick that will likely end up playing mid-field.
Couldn't have asked for more considering we effectively gave up Hampson for him. What a win!
