Match volume, match speeds last Saturday.. available this weekend (luckily, since Ambrose is now injured).

In better news for Bombers fans, Michael Hurley is in line to put his hand up for selection after recovering from a hamstring strain.

“Hurls did a really good session on Saturday, we’re happy with how he trained.

“He did a match volume at match speeds, he’ll train fully this week and be expected to be available.”

Really glad he's back, particularly as Ambrose is now out for the next few games.

Some people on here are really harsh. The ball was coming in under no pressure week after week so everyone looked worse. If we actually show the same intent that we have the last couple of weeks I guarantee that Hurley will look like the AA star that he is.

He is trying to play the post 2008 Fletcher role. The problem is, he does not impact contests and his kicking is atrocious. The hoof long is something that might have worked a decade ago, but with teams pressing up its a simple turnover every time.

He and Goddard also like to push out to the back pocket for cheap, useless disposals that achieve nothing.

I think you make a good point, it's not just him out of form. It's a structural issue where we have both he and Goddard floating around down back at the same time playing the same role (and both out of form..).

Needs to go back to completely priding his game on 1v1 defence again. Was the strength of his game up until about two thirds of the way through last season. Has been very bizzare watching it dissolve out of his game since then.
