Draft Review 2007 - Redo the 2007 Draft

At least 4. You would have to take Walker before Rioli, Walker will be a superstar forward.
After a few good games?

I'm going to wait until one more year to rate Walker.

You do realise you're the only one who would still pick kreuzer in the top 3...crazy stuff, delusion at it's finest
It's my opinion.

The delusion is the belief that Kreuzer is cooked and isn't as talented as Dangerfield, Rioli, Walker and Cotchin. Heard the same crap about everyone we've picked since 2005. I love BigFooty. And the irony of Carlton being criticised for favouring a big man over mids.

I love Krueze!! But if it were me, I would have picked up Cotchin in a heart beat. Amazing player!! Best from 07 draft IMO

Absolutely. Him or Danger. Sorry, but any Carlton fans arguing Kreuzer is #1 are just in denial. Not even top five at this point.

1. Carlton - Trent Cotchin
2. Richmond -Patrick Dangerfield
3. West Coast - Cyril Rioli
4. Melbourne - Taylor Walker
5.Western Bulldogs - Matthew Kreuzer
6. Essendon - David Myers
7. Fremantle - Brendon Whitecross
8. Brisbane - Callan Ward
9. St Kilda - Harry Taylor
10. Adelaide - Jack Grimes
11. Sydney - Brad Ebert
12. Hawthorn - Chris Masten
13. West Coast - Scott Thompson
14. Melbourne - Lachlan Henderson

Gets too thin after this. Main point, Kreuzer may well drop further in retrospect. Hard to see him reaching the heights of the four above him.

Also, Myers at No. 6 is objectively incorrect; couldn't find it in my heart to drop him though. Ward or Taylor would be fantastic.

you have whitecross a bit high there. Ward, taylor and grimes are comfortably ahead

I'm confused.
Is he or isn't he top 5?

Kreuzer would be taken at Number 5 by the Bulldogs, or 4 by Melbourne. But over the next couple of years we'll see if he remains worth that kind of pick.

Let's pretend that first one didn't happen.

After a few good games? He kicked 63 for the season and averaged the 2nd most amount of goals per game behind Buddy. He also kicked clutch goals in big finals game. What more do you want from a 22 year old KPF?

If Rioli even went close to that kind of impact across a whole season, Hawks fans wouldn't shutup about it.

No one has said Kreuzer is cooked, get some ****ing glasses! Everyone knows he is bloody talented and has the potential, but sorry for rating guys higher than him who have actually proven themselves across a whole season and on the big stage in finals, our bad!

Do not bring up the injury excuse crap, that is the nature of the sport. If you think Kreuzer is so damn good, then we will see the results very soon. You didn't answer my question as to whether Carlton would be a better side with Jacobs and Walker instead of Kreuzer....

Rioli probably does.

In tackles, forward 50 pressure and he can kick a few goals to.

Yes, Walker is a very good forward but I will wait to the end of 2013, without Tippett, and then I will judge him better.

Surely you would take Taylor ahead of Ward considering your midfield?

Dont know really. Looking at Brown, Reid & Keeffe in defence they look like they can hold the fort for KPD for the next 8 years.
In the midfield Swan and Ball are getting on. If we looked at Ward he could be that hard nut to take over Luke Ball's role.

A midfield of Pendlebury, Beams & Ward would be pretty handy.

So a 23 year old ruckman is not going to have enough improvement left in him to become one of the best (not necessarily the best) of his draft year.

We wouldn't.

I guess you won't mind my laughing at Adelaide supporters criticising the big man who is loyal, hard and doesn't want to leave for a barrow full of money.

Do you watch any other sides?

That would explain why your club overrates their talls and gives a Kernahan type contract to a poorer tall forward than Fevola.

No wonder your club is in such a bad shape.

.

Sorry about the late reply but i thought your insightful post deserved a reply.

First of all i admire Kreuzers loyalty and hardness at the ball but those qualities alone dont make a great player.

Second of all i dont recall mentioning Tippett ? In a discussion you cant just bring up a player that is not relevant to the discussion as i clearly stated Walker was better. Also its no shame being a poorer forward than Fevola. Loveable antics aside that man was a god.

Third and finally i completely back up my point that Walker is among the top forwards in the competition and Kreuzer would be lucky to scrape into the top 10 ruckmen.

A ruckman that is in that top 10 is Jacobs but try to let that go. < --- See i can bring up irrelevant players as well :D

Not at all what I said. I'm implying that it's unlikely he will ever be rated above the likes of Cotchin, Dangerfield, Rioli and Walker.

Top 10 ruckmen:
1. Dean Cox
2. Sam Jacobs
3. Ivan Maric
4. Nic Naitanui
5. Shane Mumford
6. Aaron Sandilands
7. Patrick Ryder
8. Todd Goldstein
9. Tom Bellchambers
10. Matthew Kreuzer

There you go, he makes it in I reckon.
8 - 10 is pretty tight.

I'm not sure about your list or how you determine it.
You are missing Ben McEvoy who certainly should be on the list.

He practically played half a season without Tippett, and has always been better off as the lone KPF in our side. He already takes the best backman as well.

I reckon this list is a little more accurate than the one above:

1. Cox
2. Jacobs
3. NicNat
4. Sandi (would be number one easily if he played the majority of games)
5. Mumford
6. Maric
7. Kreuzer
8. Goldstein
9. Giles
10. Bellchambers

Top 3 are basically all dead even going on 2012 form. No way is Ryder anyway near this list.

Ryder is a fantastic ruckman.
