Rumour 2010 Sydney Swans Trading Discussion

There's a rumour on the main board that Mitch Morton is going to be traded at the end of the year, and we've all heard the rumours regarding Vez and Richmond. Ignoring compensation for a second, would you want Mitch Morton in our team? I'd say yes, based on the ability of the Swans to get the best from players from other clubs. What do you think?

If he leaves the tigers that will be his 3rd club and he's only 23. For all his supposed 'talent', he obviously has issues and Swans don't need that sort of bulls***.

I highly doubt he'll be traded anyway. I think he'll stay at Richmond, whether that is a good decision on their part or not i'm not sure.

Wouldn't want him at the Swans anyway. We have more talented, less selfish and more exciting players on the up than Mitch Morton.

If we trade Vez for Morton, it would be trading down for a player of lesser quality. If Vez isn't involved then why would we be looking at Morton anyway.

Reiwoldt possibly ok but I reckon the only ones worth trading at tigerland for are Deledio, Cotchin or Martin

Incredibly early I know and I will probably get some ******** comments about making it too early but it's one of my favourite times of year and if there are other Swans fans who would like to discuss it then here is the place.

Firstly, with Gold Coast coming in, expect a busy trade season all around. I was reading on the drafts & trading board that the Gold Coast have signed 4 players already with one from the Swans who is a very good player. I am not sure at all of the validity of this comment but I would be expecting atleast one of our Best 22 players heading for the Gold Coast... who that is, I have no idea!

Secondly, our trading in the past has been very highly regarded. We are good in the off-season. What type of players or needs do you think we need to address? Or are you sick and tired of recycled players and would prefer to see our budding youth develop?

And finally, Trade Bait? Is it time to offload some of our players? Not many of our players have high trade value so personally I don't see much worth in this department.

lol are you kidding me.

Vez can't crack a game in your team in his 3rd year and has done nothing at AFL level. Morton is out of form at the moment but has kicked 80+ goals in 2 years as a small forward. I doubt he will be traded anyways, you only have to look at who started the thread - Big Cox. He starts rumour after rumour and they all turn out to be B.S.

Murphy is contracted till 2012, not going anywhere, why would be leave a team on the brink of great things?

It was a bit hypothetical anyway we really could use Murphy in our team. But he most likely will be a blue for life.

Yeah I know it's hypothetical, you guys could definitely use a player like Murphy, why not go after the Adelaide and Port players? Some good kids coming out of contract there and seems like a few want to leave?

Personally I think we need a player like LeCras or Brad Green. Not those players, but players of those types. We need a medium forward who can crumb and mark and kick a goal. We are too short for goal scoring options at the moment...

Maybe Gary Rohan is that type of player... has scored 3 goals towards the start of the 3rd quarter.

He's only 23... that would be the type of player I would like to see the Swans get but I don't know what others opinions would be. McGlynn can play that role but is better used elsewhere.
