Way to pump up your own post!

Sounds like a standard case of an over-zealous dad to me. All that shit gets sorted out in the interviews.

Nah, sounds like this one went a bit far: AFL investigating etc. He didn't like what Brad Scott and Bryce Lewis were asking the kid.

The posts on our board are by reliable types who do have connections to the Jets etc.

As I said, interesting.

Haha, I checked the thread; the only mention of us is from DOP.

I was referring to the posts on Kavanagh. That it is you guys is from somewhere else.

Was that the initial complaint, or a counter-claim though?

The first I heard of it was an investigation started because clubs were complaining about the kid. Then the kid - or his dad - has been complaining about your club.

You're the first (and only) I've heard of an Essendon link, at all.

If my son ever got to that level I'd do everything I could, that wouldn't get him in trouble, to get him to Essendon over every other club. Yes blood is thicker then water and all that and you'd end up following the team your son plays for but it would be double ecstasy if he got to the bombers!!!

On the other hand if Essendon was not interested and say for example Collingwood and Richmond are you'd want him to go to Collingwood wouldn't you as you know they will develop him better.

My understanding is a number of clubs have raised issues in the wake of Kavanagh Snr complaining about questioning (subsequently ruled fine) by Brad Scott and Bryce Lewis.

As for essendon - good source says Essendon's the club he wants to get to. We'll see. I wouldn't be surprised if GWS picked him up. They have the picks to take a risk on a talented kid with injury issues.

My mind is made up for pick 19.....it MUST be Tom Sheridan.....an inside mid who averged 25 touches a game,9.5 contested,Massive engine, super quick and to top it all off he's a huge Bomber fan and his dad played for Essendon reserves....GET HIM EFC!......:thumbsu::D

Predicted for second round; so possibly pick 31.

Brabazon vanished from the face of the earth though. Those two at least stuck around at Bendigo.

Just quietly, I reckon we'll rocked Duscher this year.

Brabazon went back to Perth - He is a WA boy !

That would be the first time I've heard Sheridan being described as 'super quick'. Just a simple quick would be pushing it. He did move inside with some success this year, but I don't see him doing that at AFL level for quite some time. He is a slow outside midfielder with average foot skills, but his endurance would be better than most AFL players already.

But that's just me. From the sounds of things, he'll be taken higher than he would if he I were drafting.

Is starting to sound like we're a chance for Kavanagh...very happy to take the risk on his injuries, gotta jump all over him if he's there. GWS really should feel free to take the risk with pick 14, but as we saw with Hep last year, these things happen :D

Completely agree, still think that GWS can take that risk on him.

Really unsure what we are going to do with picks 31 and 57 (what types we are going to go for).

Kavanagh at 19 now sounds realistic and would be a great get. At worst he'll join the long list of our players in rehab for hammy issues :p To get a guy that would probably go top 10 if he had stayed fit would be fantastic, and we'd back the Weapon to sort him out.

Pick 31 should be a workmanlike mid. We're not going to get a star, but a Luke Parker type (Sam Kerridge or Seb Ross) would be nice, or perhaps go for Marley Williams. I'd be tempted to pick Manson for risk/reward, but that could be dangerous, if we've picked Kav

Pick 59-Tom Downie

Tom Downie starting to get a bit of love, wonder if I were partly to blame for it in the draft predictions thread? Even Fin Ice Smuggler above me edited one of his picks to him. I've never seen him play however, just read up he was an AUS representative in basketball and chucked him in. :p
