I've factored in 50-50 games against Geelong and Collingwood at the MCG counting as "neutral games." They are tough.... but a good team like Hawthorn should treat them as 50-50.
.

Sure I can live with that, but what you're saying is that richmond should also treat geelong as 50-50? or if Hawthorn went to GWS, we would have less than 50% chance. Do you really believe that? or that if you changed our fixture to swap the geelong game to a GWS game - you would automatically take away an extra win the AFL has supposdly given us?

That's sheer lunacy.

Ahh sorry for the confusion mate. :thumbsu: You'll be happy to know we play once in Sydney and once in Canberra (v GWS) I don't know if that's a good or bad thing for you.

As I won't get to see the BLUES up here I may go & watch the red & the blues & I'll be supporting them in either of those matches.

I just find it odd with 22 matches each in Qld, NSW,SA & WA (20 once you take the derbys out) you would think every Vic team would visit the other 4 states at least once per year but some how you guys visit NSW/ACT twice & Carlton not at all very odd indeed.

Why are you using the fact that you travelled 5 times last year as a justification for only travelling 3 times this year?

5 times is a perfectly normal amount to travel for last years 17-team comp with 7 non-Vic teams.

My team, for example travelled 5 times last year.

So, should I use Essendon's "5 travel trips in 2011" to justify that we deserve to only travel 3 times in 2012?

With 8 non-Vic teams, 5-6 travel games should be the norm.

That means Hawthorn, should really be having either 9 or 10 travel games in 2012 (including your 4 tassy games), if everything was fair, right?

Hi Dan,

You seem to love doing stats...

Do you want to go through since 1997 when Port entered the comp how many times Collingwood, Hawthorn and Essendon have played "away" matches interstate each season?

I've done the first two for you...

1997
Coll 4
Ess 6
Haw 4

1998
Coll 3
Ess 2
Haw 6

It is not luck - it is designed by the AFL to meet its own objectives (maybe with the complicity of Hawks management). Perhaps the Hawks agreed to less travelling in exchange for more games in Melbourne against non-Vic sides - who knows!? A secret deal? Who agreed to reducing the Hawks away travel requirement below that of any other club and why?

Don't Collingwood usually have the lowest travel requirement?

Dan's calculating it for us as we speak...

Is there a comprehensive, region by region television broadcast schedule available?

For instance, suppose somebody lives in Brisbane and wants to know which games will be shown by Channel 7 and when, is there some way to find out in advance of that week?

I have looked everywhere and found nothing. Jesus our game seems amateur some times.

North and Adelaide being fixtured to play both GWS and GC twice is a disgrace.

Spot on, basically gives them a massive advantage on rivals fighting for the lower part of the 8.

If North can't make the finals this year with this draw, Brad Scott should be given the sack.
