Black replacements we've got. Brown replacement is tougher. I think Voss' plan is to have a spread of goalkickers and it's worked really well this season.

I think we've got enough improvement in our midfield to cover the loss of Black. A key forward an elite one is what we need. An elite tall defender is also a need.

Hey all, is there a chance of us snapping up this bloke called Jimmy Toumpas? Exactly what we need IMO.
He will most likely be gone unfortunately. I am still really, really hoping we draft Dayle Garlett!! I believe he will be the last piece of the puzzle in our developing midfield. The cherry on top if you like! He is all class.

I would love nothing more. If he's still around by pick 8, I'll fly down to Adelaide and help him pack his bags. Sadly, it's not very likely at all. The only thing that may play in our favour is that he hasn't played since the champs, meaning that his value has gone down. It's possible that other clubs have since started rating others higher, and will pass on him. Drawing a massive bow there, though. He'll be gone by pick five I reckon, and even if not, there's no way Port wouldn't snap up a local boy at 7.

Garlett's an interesting one too, and I'm definitely warming to him. I'm just not sure that, knowing how our recruitment staff have operated of late, they'll take a punt on someone like him. If the 'strengthen our list' mantra is truly their only goal, though, then perhaps it could happen.

I still think that if we have our first round pick after trade month (very unlikely if we get Tippett), there's a good chance we'll pick up Mason Shaw. Probably depends on whether or not we do get Tippett, actually, but as good as choosing the best available can be, a talented key forward really is a need we can't ignore.

I think our depth in most positions is quite good. Our midfield is developing we just need to add pace. I think we have the clearance players they are just taking a little while to develop. What we really need is an Elite CHB or CHF to bring through the ranks. I think overall the cherry on top is what we are after now.

We have a handy CHB in development in Clarke, he is going to be unstoppable when he puts on some KGs. Kid is a gun over head and on the ground. It looks like he loses his opponent only to catch up to them and spoil/mark overhead.

Jimmy Toumpas would be great as he is a ball winning goalkicking mid\HF...and he comes from Polecs club. But he would have to work hard if he was to dethrone Polks for a senior spot.

But I cant see him sliding down to us, as he plays senior footy in the SANFL and should he continue his good form, he will only remain at the forefront of recruiters minds. Highly rated kids mid-season who finish the year playing seniors in VFL, SANFL, or WAFL dont usually slide, and Jimmy Toumpas been predicted to be out of our reach for quite some time...I dont expect that to chance

Hopefully due to injuries Troy Menzel will fall to us. At our first pick Oliver Wines would be a great get, but he is likely to be gone. Jonathan O'Rourke could be available at our first pick wouldnt take hime over Wines though.

Ok say for arguments sake we do end up with tippet next year AND we give up our 1st round pick for him..........for argument sake

Who would we take with our 2nd pick and our compensation pick, any chance Nick Vlastuin, Ben Kennendy, or same mayes would still be available ????

Also If we do get tippet, I could feel that Acon could be squeezed out, WOULD someone like the tigers or doggies give up a 2nd round pick for him ???

Menzel is one of my favorite player this year, lucky him :P

I think they will both be available at our pick, I'm hoping we really consider Menzel assuming he is available.

I'd say they would all be gone. At those picks I'd be looking for Tanner Smith, Mason Shaw and Liam McBean.

I don't think we would get a second rounder, I would say a third sounds more likely. It seems he knows what he has to keep working on and is doing his best to improve it.

Personally I don't think we will give up pick 8 for Tippett. I think Kerr and co are licking there lips about a couple of players that may be available there. I think we will try and bundle our compo with something to get an earlier first round pick and then on trade that and maybe something else for Tippett.

Is that possible, going by the rules?

Sounds like wishful thinking cotter.

After his u18 champs, I don't think clubs will bother to bring that up. His two games in the champs were outstanding.

The LARS ligament in his leg still scares the shit out of me. Pass IMO.

I'm starting to think an elite specialist forward pocket is a need when I am feeling optimistic about our current depth like I am this week.

A fleet footed clearance player would be good too.

Not sure whether it's a reach, but I wouldn't mind Ben Kennedy at pick 8. Quick, skilful inside midfielder who can play forward and kick goals. Also a very professional kid and you know what you'll get. He would add depth to our midfield group and provide a point of difference with his pace.

Too similar to Zorko? Nah...teams can always do with a player like that.

Still hoping for Jesse Hogan via the mini draft.

They both have there strengths and weaknesses, and it depends on what type of player we want. I do think that Hogan is the better player however. Shaw will kick more goals, is a much better set shot and plays closer to goals, he is more of your FF type. Hogan is more of your CHF type, also capable CHB, he can player higher up the ground but also kicks goals. I think Hogan is the better mark despite being shorter, also he has a much better rounded game. Given the choice I would take Hogan, Shaw could even be around for our compo pick.

Hogan has more potential IMO. Yeah Shaw could be although I think he will get snapped up by Freo for some reason.

I'd like to see us take Hogan if we can get him. I don't know if pick 8 will be enough though. The Bulldogs and Demons could use an elite key forward prospect too and they've got two picks ahead of us. GWS could get pick 4 or 6 or both for their mini draft picks. Hogan if we can get him, but Garlett or Kennedy if we can't.

Was reading an article about Port and how there first round picks haven't hit the mark and this also raises Richmond's inadequices as well. It is obviously important to get this right but for mind it's the next two to three which really adds to your side as a whole. I'm quite confident that our recruitment boys will make the right option with our first pick but it's the compo and Secound round pick which I am very interested in and I feel we'll get a spread of players but certainly hope that two of them are top KPP's. Be it two KPF's or one KPF and KPD and I would also be happy to get a good inside mid and small forward. Possibly a Hogan then a Shaw or Jaeksch or best KPD at that pick, be happy with Hovrats and Shannon Taylor for our third round. Not asking much!
