"Rohan has been told he can make a full recovery after both bones in his lower leg were broken"

"He says the only positive is the surgeon's optimism that Gary can be back by round 1 next year."

Major sigh of relief :thumbsu:

amazing news! :thumbsu: really hope it's true. to be honest i kind of feared the worst that it might end up being another nathan brown scenario, where he wasn't really able to get back to his best. but rohan is only 20. he still has his best footy ahead of him, no doubt about it. :thumbsu:

This season should be dedicated to Rangalicious. We can win a premiership for him!!!

Love ya, long time Rangalicious. A good South-West boy, breed them tough down here, don't worry about Rangalicious, he'll be back, better than before!!!

Swans ruckman Shane Mumford will be sidelined for three-to-four weeks following a minor operation to remove an infection in his back.

I have the medical knowledge of a chimpanzee but how do you surgically remove an infection?

Does it mean removing diseased tissue?
If so, that sounds a bit more than a 'minor operation'.

I can't believe it either to be honest. How can you operate on an 'infection' baja? It might be a back spasm or something else, other than an 'infection'.

its common to have surgery to wash away bacteria and dead tissue post surgery.. but Im not sure he had surgery so I cant answer that.

My 8yo daughter has osteomylitis which is a bone infection and upon googling a course of treatment is operation and scraping the bone to remove the tissue. If it isn't removed it can cause serious damage and make bones more prone to breaking.

i had an infection in my finger after i had the tip of it sewed back on after a childhood injury and its very common for a surgeon to go back in and clean up the infected area or as i had debridment of the dead tissue

Ive also had a staph infection was a pretty horrible week of my life makes you feel misrable

Mummy will be ok antibotics and the surgery should hopefully fix things

the fact that we've been told its more then a week to week proposition tells me 3-4 weeks is most likely.. its the most honest they have been regarding injuries for a long long time..

maybe because of the draw they are being more cocky and open abt this...

Honest lol

you can understand why they keep the injury info tight nit, why give the opposition more info then they need.. i realise it is annoying not knowing when our better players are likely to return, but i get it...

especially later in season, or when about to play top 8 teams, keep them guessing i say...

for example what the hawks are doing with hodge this week, making us plan for him even thou he's a 50-50 chance of playing... its a great tactic imo..

How come?

I dont wanna answer for bedford but I think he means how he got this infection to begin with? If it was from a jab, or post surgery what was the jab or surgery for in the first place? Im just discussing, not insinuating anything I wouldnt know.
Without knowing all the facts it does sound strange to get an infection without any reason? Could it have been from an untreated tear?
I dont have a problem with the club keeping things hush and I dont feel I have a right to know, I have faith in our medical staff.

Apparently started after the Round 2 jab. According to Horse anyway.
