tb_fanboy, don't worry I'm Jets now for better or worse. Following some other teams in the NFC is only for entertainment value, not the same as the frustration I feel watching New York.
Don't watch the Packers then. If it isn't terrible calls by the refs, it's terrible defensive plays that nobody changes (playing zone when all of our DBs are better in man). Watch today's game for a wonderful example of that, Brees absolutely tore our secondary to shreds by finding soft spots in the zone.

aaand the cheeseheads

That's why anyone with half a clue doesn't look at the box score...
In other news, Nick Saban doesn't have half a clue.

Yeah watched last week and today tough going for the Packers though they did get a W today. Seem to be the opposite to the Jets way too offense centric which is OK for them cos it usually comes off but it seems as though they just acknowledge the other team will run up the score and just back themselves to score more in a shoot out. Good to watch offensively but makes you pull your hair out defensively.

I'm hearing ya DA. I can appreciate smart. slick. precision. play calling. but to have Defensive players continually fall over, miss tackles and brain fades with offside penalties and the like becomes truly staggering.

Onto another concern with the mechanics on OFFICIALS decision making process: The botched turnover that wasn't allowed today in the GB/ NORL game when the Saints RB clearly fumbled the ball but was  ruled down .. the zebras needed to have a somewhat lengthy discussion meaning SOMEBODY got undermined in the decision making process. And furthermore, video replay is accessible yet not utilised. o_O

Had GB lost that game, I'm telling ya (wouldn't surprise one iota) that it would of got damn NASTY @ Lambeau I feel. I'm talking REALLY NASTY. I wonder what becomes of this during the week. Most likely, brush it under the carpet like most things. :( Incompetence is KILLING this game and it starts at the TOP.

Can't the NFL now replace officials for poor officiating?

The stupid thing was they should have called it a turn-over and then because all turn-overs are reviewed they can see if they made the right decision on the review. Was terrible officiating on that play though and apart from a couple of other things they were ok.

Spot on.
but.

Common sense & INFLATED F****** EGO's don't work well apparently. Believe me, I've seen it at close quarters. Can't respect working with such cretins.

From watching the game it seemed like a decision where the Packers players were yelling at the ref and he just imploded and went with his own call.

Hopefully next week I can watch a game without whinging about the refs. There are always going to be bad calls but these have been some pretty big blunders.

Great seeing the regular referees back for myself, suppose it helps with the Rams drawing Mike Carey.

Anywho excited for the Rams future. Zuerlein just doesn't miss. Having such a good K means you'll need to stop us before the half way line to prevent a field goal.

I don't know if it's because I'm over analysing so much on certain aspects of the game but I can sure feel the standards are dropping (on a decline) as the years roll by. There are things that are not going to be seen (obviously missed) that can be due to blocked vision and I can deal with that, as each official has his own district to look out for. What I can't fathom is double guessing, the blatant phantom call that didn't happen. The NFL have a responsibility to their audience to avoid complicating matters that never should arise. Why are players reacting why they are? Is being spiteful the right choice? or a directive? That's the poison that kills the standard. One bad decision followed by another guess to even up the previous 50/50 is why the standard isn't becoming recognised anymore. Very embarrassing to not only watch but the shame that comes with no common sense to immediately rectify it. ALL BECAUSE OF AN EGO. Ed Hochuli is a classic example I'm afraid. The Jay Cutler fumble- loose ball release from hand whilst @ Denver vs Chargers would have to be right up there with last weeks debacle.

What else were you inferring other than that?

In the famous words of Jeremy Clarkson...."you can't afford to be ambigous on the interweb".

Since you make a habit of turning every contrary opinion to your own into a personal attack...I'll spell it out clearly so there can be no further confusion.

- LeSean McCoy is an excellent back (I can go and quote references where I have said as much on this very forum in the past).
- LeSean McCoy could well be the best back in the league, although I prefer the term "best offensive RB", right now, there are better ALL AROUND backs than him. For evidence, have a look at his missed blocking assignment just before the half in last week's game against the Cards.
- In the end, it gets down to how you define the best back, you were happy to annoint him the best back in the league yesterday based on a great second half performance, abusing the overpursuing Giants' pass rushers. Yes, the game was "on the line" but the game was well in the balance at 7-3 game where he clocked up all of 2 rushing yards in the first half. Then when the game was "on the line" with his team on the Giants goal-line, the Eagles preferred 7th round draft pick Bryce Brown over McCoy in the backfield.

So when you ask, "what else were you inferring", I'm inferring that the Eagles need to call his number more often early so that we call judge him fairly alongside the other top running backs in the league.

So despite all the hedging, that was indeed what you were inferring. Why do you feel its unfair to judge him amongst the other backs now? Because he's getting late game carries and they're supposedly easier? We called a West Coast game plan yesterday. We always intend to throw to set up the run. Does that diminish McCoy? Not at all. If it was as easy as just hand the ball off in the fourth and chalk up mega yards every back in the league would benefit from it.

Now you've added the inference that McCoy isnt a good goal line back (because we gave a play to Brown), which is laughable based upon McCoys record in the red zone last year. Did you miss the whole 18 touchdowns thing? More likely to be a conscious effort to reduce McCoys touches after he played 80% of snaps last year (amongst the league high for RBs).

The missed blocking assignment against the cards had alot to do with the fact that Vick failed to read the blitz and didnt identify that the player was coming. Blaming McCoy for that is ridiculous.

All this talk about LeSean McCoy is boring me. How about the season JJ Watt is putting together? At present, Watt is unstoppable. Discuss.

A side note; who would have thought the Texans would be a team worth watching for defence only a year ago?

Telling someone that they said something they didn't doesn't make it so.

You also seem to be of the view that I am have issue with McCoy when what I am really questioning is the claim that he is the best back in the league.

Again, to remove ambiguity:

- I never said it was unfair to judge McCoy against the other backs, I said I have not seen McCoy in enough all around game conditions this year to annoint him the best back in the league (and I've watched the coaches film on every Eagles game). Going back to my original comment, I want to see more of McCoy doing the things the other best backs do in the league to make my own judgement.
- Draw whatever conclusion you want but I'm just stating facts in that McCoy was on the sideline when it was goal to go.
- The missed blocking assignment was absolutely on McCoy, his own team mates even said after the game that he blocked the wrong Cardinal defender.

Having said that, since it is your post game euphoric claim that McCoy is the best back in the league, that is the subject of discussion it would be nice to hear some facts why you feel this way rather than discredit someone who presents facts that support an alternate view.

Watt is literally smashing it this year but it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone how well the Texans' defense is playing.

Yeah that's another one and our cheerleaders aren't the best types either.

Didn't realise that Green Bay now have cheerleaders????
Thought wew were still one of two teams not to use them.

Bryant clearly ran the wrong route. Ugh.
Yeah, but it still should be obvious somewhat to the QB, especially because it wasn't an instant pass. It just slowly floated there...
