The only change that I probably would have made was Gardiner swapped for Giles. But let's just celebrate the blokes who we have picked, all of them could be 100 gamers.

As soon as the draftees were drafted you can see it in their face that they were planning a return flight in two years...

GEELONG teenager Darcy Gardiner had two wishes granted tonight.
The first came when he was taken by Brisbane Lions at pick 22 in the AFL national draft.
The second came soon after when his Geelong Falcons teammate Lewis Taylor, from Terang-Mortlake, was also recruited by the Lions at pick 28.
Gardiner said he was "over the moon" he would be travelling north with one of his best friends.
"He's up from the bush but we're very close," he said.
"I was praying for his name to be read out to go to Brisbane, absolutely praying for it."
To both Tom and Jack - Who wa the best player you played on during the TAC Cup and the carnival games?
Tom: I would probably say Darcy Gardiner is the best defender, so I guess he was the best player that I personally played on.
That could be right. Apologies is that's the case SizeMatters.I could be wrong Haso but I thought SizeMatters was being facetious in the second of those quotes.
I was a bit iffy on the pick of Robertson, I know that a few rate him, Quigley in particular. At that stage with our last live pick and having taken 3 talls (including Freeman) I think it was the smart decision to take a smaller type, and to be honest outside of Marsh and Templeton I didn't really rate the players around that area highly. At 191cm and with good running ability and a strong body Robertson has every chance to succeed and he definitely has ability. I think his upside is limited a bit and his best bet to make it could be as a tagger or an inside mid. He keeps up with the drafting of tall running types, which our recruiters seem to love.
Ahh the lions love cup just keeps running over with these blokes.http://www.newscom.au/sport/afl/lions-grant-falcons-wish/story-fnjuhrxq-1226765601889
Another potential bromance? Reddo and Rocky need to look out.
Interestingly, Tom Boyd named him as his toughest opponent;
Link.
Another potential bromance? Reddo and Rocky need to look out.

Maybe trying to establish the fact that they're not joined at the hip.I thought that bromance may have been over or at least on the rocks with news that Rocky roomed with Moloney on the Arizona trip or quite possibly they just need their space.![]()
Lewis Taylor was at the draft on Thursday night. Does this mean he was in the mix for someone's top 10 pick? If so, it's a huge slide and great for us. I'm really happy with how draft night went.
Yup. Emma Quayle said he was 7th on one team's list.
I wonder who's list that was?
I was trying to work it out too. There were so many teams with picks before pick 28, so under the assumption of each team picking 'best available' the most likely is the Dogs or Melbourne? North are a chance too, because their first live pick was after ours, or maybe GWS but they decided not to go 'next best' and go McCarthy instead.
I assume this team that rated him the 7th best prospect has to have had a top 10 selection for him to be invited to the draft. I think it has to be the Demons, Collingwood or us who requested he be there.
There's no way it was us, we picked Gardiner and McStay ahead of him

Yeah fair point. Collingwood or Melbourne must have really rated him. There's no way it was us, we picked Gardiner and McStay ahead of him
