Those saying package up picks 24,25 for a mid first rounder are kidding themselves. Ask yourself would you do it at the saints if we had a mid first rounder?

If we do not get this first round/second round swap with hawthorn then we've lost on this trade.

I'd love to see us pick up Longer and have him and Hickey developing in the same team.
Room for both IMO and having 2 mobile quality tap ruckmen rotating through the middle, bench & fwd would be awesome. Every time the opposition had their 2nd ruckman in the middle we have a far greater chance of getting first use of the pill. For too many years we had Harves & co roving off the opposition rucks cos ours were not up to it.

I'll be pretty disappointed if that pick swap doesn't happen.

This trade period seems to be becoming one where we get very close to pulling off big trades but something just manages to edge us out at the last min.

The McEvoy trade looks like it was not part of Pelchens plans for aggressive trading this year and so far we haven't seen anything more than rumors of big trades that nearly happened. There is still a week to go so it isn't over just yet, but considering we only really have the Bruce and Delaney deals to sort out it is hard to see where another massive trade is going to come from.

While I wont be unhappy with the current course I just feel like I expected a bit more than what it seems we might end up doing.

I'd much rather get Jolly or a backup ruck from the VFL , ( Tippett )? and see how Pierce develops and see whats in next years draft. Use 18 for a draft pick.

We can get stuck in the "grass is always greener " chasing the perfect ruckman thing while our midfield needs guns.

There is a mountain of difference between them. Longer is absolutely worth pick 18 and truthfully that's us ripping off the lions a bit which I'm not a fan of.
