Sydney are only going to take 1 live pick in the draft…

Their current first live pick is 39, so unless someone can organise a better pick than that, they won't even use it.

Unless they can package up 39 & 41 for a slightly lower 30's pick

GCS should get involved.. Don't they need a pick around 30 to give to hawks for Hallihan?

Personally would only trade pick 1 for 4 6 7 or 1 + 21 for 4 6 7 Tomlinson. Everyone else gets a broken deal, why can't we.

As to players they might want Schneider or Fisher. Haven't they had a hard on for fisher for a few years?

Yeah and Fisher has said no before. But I see them as the only players GWS would accept without giving up Armo or Steven.

What do you mean? As in using earlier picks to get in talent and kissing out on sliders?

I think that is somewhat of a fault of Pelchens plans but realistically he wants top end talent, even if we do miss out on some top end talent that slides.

I would honestly take Liam Jones in the PSD if we can get Membrey through trade. He is not that old and would be best 22, at worst he could keep the spot warm until we draft/trade in/develop someone better. White is still a fair way off consistent AFL football imo.

They did the same last year except it was Melbourne who ran to GWS after dealing with us.

Pretty sure Ryder is just fed up with Victoria, and also wants the best shot at winning a premiership. Port would have to be in the top 2-3 sides next year for sure. No brainer IMO. Ryder has to agree, and I suspect a deal will be done, pick 17 and 37 for Ryder.

That's why picking up Membrey either with a late pick or as a delisted free agent is the way to go.

Depending on who we draft (in the event we have 4,6,7 or whatever- maybe McCartin is available & we're right for tall forwards) & who is available, we can make the call on who (if anyone) we should take in the PSD. I can't see Jones being an option as we already have a number of developing forwards who need the game time.

And Nick still has a year or two to go. There are going to be a lot fighting for spots already. If Jones could be a FB maybe. We might even end up with Saad back as a rookie so we will have a team made up mostly of forwards, rucks and mid sized backmen. Petracca, Billings and Eli are all going to still be playing there too as they develop.
