Yeah I'd like Thompson.

If Adelaide are into Gwilt then I could see Thompson or Sam Shaw being delisted. Either of them would be a fine replacement for Jimmy.

Interesting in Barretts "Sliding Doors Article" (if you can call it an article) he makes a big reference to Tom Boyd

Greater Western Sydney - you're Tom Boyd......you're going to be mightily rankled today at being axed. You'd also be entitled to start pondering the multiple big offers to play elsewhere that are already in front of you.

Reckon we could make a big play for him in a year or two?

I still think we need to go hard for Shiel and to do that we will have to give up something big....maybe not our first rounder but maybe someone like a Montagna and our 2nd rounder

Looks like he's cooked.

Look, on Sheil, the kid knows he's in the box-seat - he's got so much talent, he can ask for the trifecta: lifestyle, money, flags. We can offer him one, MAYBE two of those depending on how he feels about Seaford, etc (some seem to love it, some hate it). But unless we shoot up the ladder a little next year, and give a sniff that we're turning the corner and getting ready for a tilt, he won't look at us. Right now, nobody can tell whether we're the next Port, or the next Richmond/Carlton. Until we know that we're not the next Carlton, I doubt Sheil will give us a second glance.

This and only this.

He has also indicated a desire to stay where he is..
There are some seriously good 18 - 20 years olds in the GWS squad not getting games that would/could be a Miles, Tyson or Adams anywhere else, they are the ones that the Saints need to target.

Would you mind reeling off a few names?

Williams, Whiley, Buntine, Jaksch, JOR and a number of others would seem to be far more getable for the saints than Shiel, to be honest they are almost random names (but all highly rated), GWS know they need to move a few on each year, which ones is not within my knowledge.

Don't forget he's from the bay area, not far down the road and I'd say that is one of the main reasons (if not the main reason) he apparently tried to come here last offseason, when he reportedly asked to be traded. Sounds like he's set his sights higher now as far as on-field goes, though, so chances are we don't get him.

It is one thing wanting to get to another club (if he still does) and them being able to satisfy GWS in a trade though. With a very aging list, who would Hawthorn trade for him, for instance, that GWS would have any interest in? If GWS are concerned about that happening in 18 months time, they might try to offload him this year, if they get a really good offer and if Sheil gets to come home a year earlier he might not be as fussed where he ends up. A team like Melbourne (who supposedly offered pick 2 for him last year) may this year be willing to offer say 5 and 6 for him (if they lose Frawley).

In another thread, I asked who this years' Delaneys are. In a lot of ways, this list represents this years Bruces. I'm pretty happy with Bruce, who basically cost us nothing.

What's up with Tim Golds?

Potentially right though I suspect the relative values vary a bit between players, there is a current likely need to "find good homes" for at least a couple of the highish draft picks each year

What's up with Tim Golds?

Nothing at all, as I said it was an almost random grab of names..

How do you know ARR? Has he mentioned it?

Yeah, makes sense. But every kid dreams to be a premiership player, and of course every kid wanting to move would want to see instant success. I'd be hopeful that Pelch and co would be in his ear spruiking 2016 and beyond. You'd hope that a move to Victoria and joining a successful club immediately are not mutually exclusive.

Could Gwilt and 2nd Rounder for Boyd happen at the end of the year.

Reckon GWS could offer him up for the right price. (not sure its enough to offer but not sure what else we have). They don't need him really but took him because they had questions over Patton who has come on well since. Tomlinson, Cameron, Patton is a fair fwd line they may offer him up at the end of the year. He hasn't really shown much for them so far and they need to rise quickly before they come under scrutiny.

Would you accept Stephen Gilham, Dylan Addison and a 2nd rounder for Jack Billings?

Maybe Stanley and 2nd rounder

If Billings had offered us very little this year and we had three other young good fwd flankers keeping him out of a spot with long futures ahead of them, needed some more inside mid depth (Addison), and experience in the backline (Gilham) then i would entertain the thought.

We may not value Gwilt that much because we have heaps of third tall defenders and running half backs but others in need of his role may which is my point. Not trying to rip them off but pose a legitimate thought that they may be interested in offering Boyd up and Gwilt, Geary and Armitage are about all we have that they may want.
