They're not going to give Boyd up for a bloke who'll turn 29 next year with back problems.

They apparently want Petracca so i think we're in with a very, very good chance of getting him.

You reckon Petracca is a priority over Griffen?

Can we seriously stop trying to trade Steven? He's potentially a top-20 player in the competition, and it'd be ridiculous if we traded him IMO, rebuild or no rebuild.

Let's say the Saints and Dogs were offering Boyd the same financial terms - if you're Boyd, why on earth would you not want to learn from the best CHF of the past 15 years or so? Although I guess at the Dogs he could learn a thing or two from Ayce Cordy and Tom Campbell... hard to turn that down.

Like every player he has his worth. If we get picks 3 and 23 for him it would be irresponsible to not entertain it seriously.

So many hypotheticals and I have no idea which one i'd rather. I'm very confused.

Plan 1: Grab Petracca
Plan 2: Match WB's offer for Boyd. We'll probably have to give up pick 1, i.e Petracca
Plan 3: Trade pick 1 for multiple top 10 picks (poss. 4 & 7)

Thoughts?

I have zero desire to get involved with any players for contracts longer than 4 years on insane dollars. There is overpaying to attract players and there is the bulldogs rumoured offer which is crazy for an unproven player at this level.

Oh Lord, he's back...

Ran away from the WB board with his tail between his legs obviously.

Wasn't he telling us that Boyd, Cameron etc would go anywhere - geez still undercontract for a year and boyd wants out.

wait until next season - it will be carnage at the GWS with all those uncontracted then delisted FA's.

Wow wee

Lots of angry Saints-based ranting and slurs on the Dogs' Boyd thread...

You'd think they'd be a bit quieter for a club who's history of failure exceeds even our own...

they should direct their anger at their president who is running an AFL team like its a country football club. he's taken them back by about 3 decades

Who cares what that rabble says. Lost their captain, coach and wont get Boyd. Absolute toothless and pathetic club

Isnt this offseason fun and action packed :)

I have been really, really enjoying reading your smug posts on other boards.

And we're going to say no to Boyd as part of that, because he went though his post-season interviews and mentioned absolutely no desire to leave.

The offer will be 4 and either Jaksch+steak knives, or 4 and what we get for Jaksch+steak knives.

The point of being a destination club is it gives the kids the confidence to re-sign.

We have a terrifying list of talent that comes out of contract at the end of 2015.

Supply and demand, mostly.

In case you hadnt noticed, some team or other put a corner on the KPF prospects recently.

Boyd or Cameron isnt going to happen.

Guaranteeing one of McCartin or Wright is going to need the Saints or Dees to cooperate.

If you are willing to lowball down to 4+7 from GWS, then there *might* be enough trade currency in the GWS kitty to upgrade the 4 to a 3, which will guarantee one of McCartin or Wright, unless Paul Roos has gone totally batshit crazy and stopped stocking the Dees midfield with Petracca or Bradshaw.

This might need a 3rd or something from the Doggies to guarantee - after paying for Patfull and stuff, GWS is running short on steak knives.

And has just managed to get your coach sacked.

I can see the bridges burning from here.

It'll be 4 and steak knives.
Some of those steak knives might be recycled via Carlton, but they look like overplaying their hand, and the Doggies cannot hi8re a new coach until they can answer the question 'WTF is happening with Griffo ?'.

Guessing they're upset that we have the currency to trump them?

Fear more than anger.

Desperation more than anger.

Place is lurching out of control to the stage Gorton is trying to do deals with the GWS president.

Really it is a shambles over there

Bulldogs have only themselves to blame. We worked hard for the 18th position in the home & away season and are now reaping the benefits.

Sorry no sympathy, or understanding of their Pick 1 Envy.
