What do you mean? As in using earlier picks to get in talent and kissing out on sliders?

I think that is somewhat of a fault of Pelchens plans but realistically he wants top end talent, even if we do miss out on some top end talent that slides.

I mean if we flip 41 to Sydney for Timmy and they don't use the Pick...seems like such a waste. We could potentially get DVR or Miller or McDonald etc (even if it means another delisting)

Thats a bloody waste of time. Ryder gets to choose where he goes, or he goes to the AFL grievance tribunal. Dodoro is all bluster but in the end his hands are tired. 17 and 37 is fair value IMO, especially when Ryder has nominated a club. He's had ONE very good year FFS.

Even if it doesn't go ahead, Port could still be the winners with Gorringe getting to the club with the picks they would use on Ryder.

Although, I digress, this is a saints board about saints trades, so how does this affect us? Or do people think it is all a bluff. I'm just throwing it up because it sounds like GWS were the ones entertaining the idea.

WE NEED THOSE EARLY PICKS. even just two of them.

How could either team do a medical on a player? Gilbo is injured and has had a dodgey foot injury for two seasons.

Why on earth would GWS take him on our word when he may be stuffed?

Same with Tomlimson for example - what happens if he is a Trengrove?

To be fair we would be ropeable if it happened to us.. If he wants to leave essendon then by all means leave . Gws are offering a top 10 pick which is only fair compensation

We don't know the posturing that could have been going on for days. I agree that a player is unlikely to be thrown up on the last day. But there is always the possibility that a player was privately discussed and due diligence done in the knowledge that the trade is unlikely to eventuate.

Another piece drops into the puzzle. Seems like this will be an interesting few hours, as their Ryder option has disappeared. You would have to think that it is far too late to be able to conjure a high profile, high ranking player to take one or more of 4, 6 and 7. The last thing GWS needs are a horde more players. They can't play the high draft choices they have without adding a swag more. This is about them trading up for quality and better managing their overall numbers.

Even more positive of the outcome now.

With that rumour that Melbourne are going to take Lever with pick 3, we could use 4, 6 and 7 on McCartin, Wright and Durdin.

That's our KPPs done for at least the next decade.
