McNiece back to Morningside. Big gain for them, should be able to alleviate the loss of Shelton.

Could be a better comp next year as I'm hearing a number of clubs are picking up a few players.

I thought a couple retiring might bring morningside back to the field but apparently they have picked up a few. Mt Gravatt with a couple neafl players and Scott (gun player) back to magpies. No doubt pfeiffer will get a few to UQ and lab and PBc are always active being the 2 wealthiest clubs in the comp.

Grange will be fine by all reports. I reckon Sandgate will struggle. Have to see how Young goes at Surfers but he has a tough job. Broadie should be ok retaining the majority of list with the possibility of getting a couple of ex- players back. It's only November but I'm struggling to get excited about cricket and horse racing is of no interest. Only 4 months till footy lol

The Comp can only get stronger after its first year in the new format, pbc being wealthy is also a myth, not as much money there as everyone assumes

I think you'll find the travel demands and other idiosyncrasies of NEAFL footy will see a few guys coming back to the QAFL, particularly those that have given up their dreams of being drafted or rookied (does take a long time for this reality to settle in for some though!)

Agree QAFL - whether clubs at this level will bend over to the financial demands that some of these guys may be asking is another thing though. If you come back a level, you should also come back in pay scale imo. As long as clubs don't shoot themselves in the foot in the rush to try and attract some of these blokes.

Western magpies made a huge financial offer to former Lion Brent Moloney, around the 1500 per game mark. Noosa also made a pitch on the weekend believed to be around half this.

So let's assume he plays 20 games if all goes well, you are saying a local club who is not known for outlaying big dollars, is going to spend $30k on one player? I call BS

Depends on how that "payment" is designed Major - it may be x $$ in readies and the balance in the form of work done for/on behalf of the football club? Not sure, just hypothesising! In any case I cannot believe that Moloney is harking himself around to clubs at QAFL / Conference level. If he wanted decent coin he needs to play NEAFL or get a FIFO arrangment with one of the many southern clubs who would accommodate this!! Bit strange imo.

There is no chance the guys at Sherwood would:

A) Be able to afford that
B) Offer that even if they could afford it

Moloney is rumoured to want to stay in Brisbane though, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the QAFL

Came from a very reliable source who Moloney stays with in Noosa. We know players have a tendacy to inflate their offers to play off clubs against each other and I certainly didn't think Magpies had the capacity or stupidity to offer this kind of money. Time will tell I guess.

A few rumours flying around at the moment, I had also heard the Magpies have gone all out to sign up Brent Moloney. Surfers are in a bit of strife with rumours a few of the players are still yet to be paid, and a couple are heading over to Broadbeach. Broadbeach if all goes well have a couple of handy players coming up from Vic, so hopefully the cats will go a little further 2015.

Magpies have offered Moloney $150,000 over 3 yrs, take it as gospel.
If that's the case, someone has gone off their nuts at the club,.The guy is now at a level of NEAFL,where he played all season in 2014.Coming back to QAFL level, he will be pretty good but the Magpies need much more then him to make finals.

Or Noosa... Splashing a lot of cash around currently and making the west magpies offer look ordinary!! Moloney must be wondering why he never knew about this gravy train before now!! You would think he's coming off a stellar season at AFL level..

Anyone can train guys hard till they spew Dog - not everyone can train guys sensibly hard.. Some blokes will get incredibly fit but you need all your list fit to win a flag.
Paul Roos travelled to Inter Milan I think it was with Burgess in 2004 to see what they were doing as there had not been a soft tissue injury in the club for 2 years or something ridiculous. simply put all they were really doing that was significantly different to core work / stretching etc to prevent injuries was have a rating scale out of 10 for players to self rate how they felt prior to training. If they self rated less than 7 then they were told not to train. Purely subjective, purely an honesty system, obviously a system that relied on a whole lot of trust in your playing group. He brought it back to the swans and whallah, they barely had an injury in 2005 and won the GF and they have continued to be a side that avoids multiple serious soft tissue injuries in a sport that is usually riddled with them. pretty sure this is all correct as I heard Roosy talking about it one day and he sort of down played the popular view point that they must have been doing something that was cutting edge sport science!!
