You think SOS was trying so hard to get a pick in the mid teens for yarran was due to wanting Collins?

Doubt he'll slide to 19 and many on here suggesting there will be better at 11. I just want him to shore up defence forever.

Although Jaksch could be our man to pair with Weitering down back.

Youre surely trolling now? Claims to want the best players; yet advocates a 100kg full back who has question marks over whether his fitness, agility and speed will transfer over to AFL football OVER a competitive, athletic and skilled FOOTBALLER like Curnow.

Please if you dont think Curnow is a player then go do some more research. There's a reason he's touted as going as high as #3
Absolutely spot on.

if Curnow some how slips to our pick 8 or 11 we have done exceptionally well. The bloke can play anywhere giving us plenty of options to thrust him in other positions should he not be performing in a particular one. Moves and marks like Hooker..even has the hunch

The thing is Curnow and McKay clearly have more potential than Collins and fill our need more for forwards especially with us picking up a CHB with our first pick. Yes there is a risk but I see McKay being a forward who won't get a heap of goals but will play his role well and hold his own in a key post and Curnow I see starting as a HFF then bossing it in the middle with Cripps. Imagine the twin towers in the guts dominating bash brothers style.

I can't fathem why you wouldn't want McKay!? He is 17, 200cm athletic beast that takes Contested Marks and kicks goals. We are in good position if we select him and Curnow and then Matheison to finish.

to much like levi? an kruz? can you play all three? just my guess why people are saying that crazy..

It's Bonner*
Besides the fact i'd prefer a few over McKay thats close to the perfect draft for us.

It seems like the writing is on the wall with McKay and i'll have to accept it. Would prefer him to Collins so thats a plus

Cunningham is exicting but im still loving Donner at #19!

Ah Chee again at #6 - interesting, appears to be locked in.

Is the excitement keeping you awake Ferris

Sorry Bruce. Was just super excited for National Jacob Weitering Day.

Also, I was hanging out with Jake Carlisle. Apparently it's also only five more sleeps til round one too!

Why not he is better player than both of those guys and I think he would walk straight into our side and would be the perfect age IMO

Because he would cost us 2 first round picks in a trade v only 1 for players drafted this year.

The catch of course is will this years draftees become as good or better than Tomlinson?

I just can't feel the love for McKay. Even a month ago when he was going at 19. While i wont be to upset if we do take him i just feel that he would be better suited if we had a young settled list like the dogs and he could have plenty of time to develop. I want someone with a few more runs on the board.
I still think i'd be stoked with Collins.

Just can't help but feel we've had a bit of luck for a change with a draft that is dominated by the best players being tall KPP types.

I've always believed we went about the last rebuild the wrong way around and ended up reaching for the taller types to fill the deficiencies in the list.

Just hope our luck has changed in relation to those taller types having a good run at it instead of being constantly injured and that Lady Luck shines on us tonight.

My wet dream result would be:
Weitering
Francis/Weideman
Curnow
Tucker/Gresham/Rioli

On Cuningham.

We need to be careful on the Judd comparisons. Chris was a superstar almost from his first year, he was in his second. Cuningham does move similiarly, but I wouldn't be expecting the kid to suddenly become magic.

Dangerfield was a low production HFF for a few years before he got the fitness right and exploded, remember?

Cuningham has that athletic ability, but he will probably take time.

Agree. McKay looks good and athletic but seems to fall off his kicks. Only 9 disposals when he has that height/weight advantage over the kids in U18 is not a great stat. And it is not like his team mates would not see him if he was in the right spot.

Prefer Collins as we will get 200 games from him, has endurance required in the modern game, proven in match ups against the best U18's (Schache, Weideman, etc.) fills an immediate and obvious need in our team, allows Weitering to swing forward when needed, etc.

Would be stoked if Parish slides to #8 (due to not being the big bodied mid everybody now wants) and we get Collins at #11. Both Genuine footballers, with leadership potential and discipline.

3rd tall ala Darling or Stringer.

Still hoping that we get Weideman over McKay but either way we get a kpd, kpf, 3rd tall marking target and whoever else that we get at 19 then I'll be a happy chappy
Suspect Weideman will go to Melbourne. They need another good young tall to partner Hogan.

We sure feel confident of taking him :)

We are after his type, but Clarke may well still be there at our pick #19 also......and if somehow Tucker is?

It's sounding increasingly likely that Curnow could slide to #8 and if he does, there's no reason why we couldn't hold out for him at #11.
He has supposedly told a few interstate clubs that he doesn't want to leave Vic. Add that to his latest indiscretion and it all adds up to a slider. Out of the Vic teams, the Demons and Bombers have two picks each ahead of us for #8, but you'd think they are likely to use them on a combination of Francis, Parish, Oliver and maybe Weideman or a couple of others. Out of those two, I think * might have a closer look at him.
If he falls to us at #8, only Adelaide and GWS have a pick before we go again at #11. Adelaide are supposedly interested in him, but would they take a risk on another Geelong local that has made his intentions to stay in Vic clear? The Crows are also interested in a couple of local boys and might end up taking what they see as the safe option.
If he's available at #8, I say we hold off for #11.

Clarke probably will be there. I like him a lot. But I fear he will be passed over by us

I like the stat on Collins also that the one game he was beaten on the scoreboard by Weiderman, he was BOG with 21 touches and 9 marks.
Not bad for a one trick un athletic pony who could only score a 14.1 beep while carrying 100kg's!

Well it will be good to have options either way.

Cas, KJ, McKay, Curnow all as likely KPF prospects is the first step...or second step to Cripps domination.

You could maybe play them all in the same side.

HF: Lamb, McKay, Sumner
FF: Casboult, Jaksch, Curnow

As McKay is so raw, how long are we talking till he plays? 1-2 years in the magoos?
