Looking at GWS their best forwards are McCarthy 193cm and Cameron !95cm combo.Danniher isn't that good.

I am majorly pissed off, have been waiting a long time to watch this live esp with the excitement of 4 early pick + SOSOS and live bidding, but have a work function I cannot get out of.
Just because they are tall does not mean we need to speculate on ceilings - Ryder, Hampson, Gorringe, etc. etc. There are always better players than these taller types who are over-rated based on one attribute.
Please pick the best players, we already have one of the best 'explosive athletic beasts' in Liam Jones.

Of the best young forwards in the comp - Hogan, Cameron, McCarthy, Lynch, Stringer are all easily better than him (of that bunch only one is extremely tall) Danniher is good but he's not coleman meddalist or top 5 key forwards in the game good.Wow. Daniher is not good. I'm stopping there you've lost it.

You are joking, surely. We have Kreuzer (who couldn't be traded because of medical issues), Phillips (who is a mature age ruckman who has never commanded a regular position in a team that frequently had little in the way of ruckmen), Wood who is rightly on our rookie list and Korchek (no revealed form). Oh, and if we get desperate we can ruck with our only halfway decent tall forward Caz or an undersized and underskilled Rowe.
All the kids have potential. We have just got this guy, a #10 from the 2010 draft:Harry is a strong mark and a straight kick who can pick the ball up off the deck at pace. He just doesn't impact games consistently
4 Future All Australians, 200+ game players.Hey Beo, you are a seasoned draft watcher.
How would you like our night to look like.
4 Future All Australians, 200+ game players.
I expect us to take 3 taller options and 1 midfielder, topping up with mids and 'outside types' in 2016.
Weitering is a given.
I would not be going for Tucker or Bonner. I feel that picking Milera or Ah Chee is not a high priority either, even though we need that sort of player. We'll give Lamb and Sumner a chance to impress first.
For a mid, I'd like Oliver; he fits as an inside ball getter. Gresham would be nice: a gut runner with good disposal.
I'm sure we won't get both McKay boys.
I don't expect us to take a risk on Weideman.

I disagree. Since weve tradced away a bunch of first round talents in Menzel, Yarran and Henderson, we cant afford to completely bust on these. In fact, given we dont have a strong core of KPP, we cant afford to take a bunch of busts and stay at the bottom of the ladder...instead we take the best 22 locks that we can depend on, and if that means we might miss on one with a high ceiling, then so be it.Since we are in a rebuild we are starting from the ground up. We have nothing to lose in going for boom or bust players. If Mckay is a bust we don't go backwards. We try again next year. Once we have our key positions (and tall forwards are as key as you get) in place we can concentrate on upgrading less fashionable positions like full back. Indeed those positions are often filled by players unsuited to other parts of the ground (think Pitman, or going back Bourke and Clay who started life as wingmen).
I'm not against McKay - i just dont think that his height is that much of a positive, in fact I think it usually is a bit of a negative. Its his ability that is promising not his heightNormally agree with you FBI, but hell other than club bias Daniher is going to be a bloody good key forward for a decade. Why are people fascinated with ranking players Hogan, Cameron and Lynch are unique talents. McCarthy still has a way to go despite being promising as a 2nd/3rd tall atm. Stringer is a very selfish package who will be worked out by the better defences. Daniher will have similar value to his team as any of the others named. If McKay reaches that level, I will be ecstatic.
All the kids have potential. We have just got this guy, a #10 from the 2010 draft:
10. DANIEL GORRINGE
(Norwood, 18, 200cm, 88kg)
Competitive ruckman with brilliant skills, particularly beneath his knees. Great ruck technique, then plays like an onballer.
The rest of our draft in 2010 was:
18. MATTHEW WATSON
(Calder Cannons, 18, 195cm, 102kg)
Big, bulky centre half-back who loves to make a big spoil, reads the play well and clears from defence with some huge kicking.
34. PAT McCARTHY
(Glenelg, 18, 196cm, 85kg)
A marking defender who could also go forward. A safe mark and a player who steadies the ship.
42. LUKE MITCHELL
(Calder Cannons, 18, 198cm, 94kg)
A centre half-forward/full-forward who is big and strong. Missed much of the year with a shoulder injury but worked hard on his speed and agility in his time out.
67. ANDREW McINNES
(Dandenong Stingrays, 18, 191cm 86kg)
Another defender for the Blues. Quick, strong and can play on forwards of different sizes.
70. NICHOLAS DUIGAN
(Norwood, 26, 186cm, 85kg)
Running defender who is strong overhead.
They were all big guys, but gave us very little. Our best pick from that draft was at #70 when we went short at 186cm. I do not want another 200cm first round project player.

You know that with KPP you have to pick some before you get one right?
Like we aren't going to rock up at the club one day and there will be a 198cm marking machine out the front, miraculously signed up overnight who is going to dominate.
Those guys didn't work out, we all know that, they also weren't the top KPP in that draft class or taken high.
We need to take some risks with KPP right now in order to have a shot at having a full side up and going in 2018
Our player development has been woeful, especially over that period and I really think a high majority of players we recruited haven't made it due to that factor. But now with the added focus on development at the club and essentially all our assistant coaches coming from a player development background we 'should' have a better strike rate. McKay is easily the best choice at 8 or 11 and definitely ahead of Collins. All the kids have potential. We have just got this guy, a #10 from the 2010 draft:
