If Black can't break into North's side I don't want him.
If Recruiters use breaking into other teams as precedent they should be fired.

Besides, The current 3 pronged tall forward line are all vastly more experienced than him. It'd be a different story if he was in a squad devoid of tall forwards (Us..?) and still couldn't crack a senior game.

I think when the club announced a "brutal trade period" is going to be interesting. If we are a "no nonsense football club" then some major changes are ahead. We will get an attacking team. If we don't then we will have egg on our face.

I have just finished watching the R23, Qualifying and Prelim games.

Don't get me wrong i bleed purple and a some of the guys below are favorites, even my buddy is on the list.

Guys that we should move:
Hannath,

Guys we could package up for deals:
Sutty - Currency. SA clubs might get a pick upgrade
Clarke - Currency. Luey is on his way to the Dees. Bulldogs, Dees pick upgrade?
Clancee - Currency. Quicker than he looks, is a bullet kick, ready made
Suban - Currency. Is a good player. But, we have too many GOOD players. We need a couple of other GREAT players.
Barlow - Currency. Ready made tall inside midfielder
DeBoer - Currency. Ready made, hard as nails, Inside mid/tagger/defensive forward.
Duffield - Currency. Ready made HBF, good kick
Mayne - Currency. Ready made 3rd tall
Muzungu - Currency. Ready made utility

How good would it be, if Hogan was to announce he wants to come home? Probably won't happen. Maybe next year. Raid the 2 best young forwards in the game. They are both ready made, young, from WA, Freo supporter guns + Bennell - Peel boy.

I'd like to get McCarthy this year for our 1st pick and 2nd pick upgrade (Clarke + our 2nd to Melbourne for their 2nd rounder). Take it or leave it. He will be home in 3 years (so will Hogan). The teams they grew up barracking for are top 4 in the comp. They have seen huge success.

Bennell i'd give next years 1st to GC. That's really a bargain if it pays off.

Pav will go on if we get him help. He didn't take many marks i50, but kicked a few. What he did though was continually bring the ball to ground for Walters and Ballaz. Not many can out body him.

Black is on the cards now, as is StevieJ (who i would just love to see line-up next to Ballaz - that would be mayhem).

We need goal kicking power. We were going to gets Schulz, so age isn't a factor. Get Stevie J, Bennell, Fyfe in the froward line.

It's all in Black's marking ability. If he can't win a contested mark then his lack of agility and speed mean he becomes a liability with the ball on the ground.

I haven't seen him marking the ball strongly since his operation.
Then he's pretty much useless and we'd be idiots to get him

Freo' tried hard to sign him before. He chose norf.

Now he regrets it?

If his shoulder op didn't work then he isn't the forward we are looking for. Sad for him.

Big Ben Brown on the other hand...
Nah too expensive drop few mark against eagle just like tab.

And more to the point of Lloyd and Bond aren't pissing on his pocket every two months they need he sack
True enough, and I'm sure he's on their Christmas card list and the like, but the reality is we need to just get over Hogan. The system is what it is, we were never a shot (especially with all the pre-draft crap with the expansion clubs etc.) and he will never come here.

People who haven't worked it out yet, save yourself long term angst and accept Hogan will be a Demon for life.

Yep. Just this, that's why McCarthy has an open check book

I wouldn't sign that long term deal if I was him.

Melbourne have shown zero progress since Roos joined, and if he continues his progress he can go where he wants for whatever he wants.

He'd be mad to sign now
