Interesting when I hear that NFL games go on for too long (generally 3 hours which isn't much more than an AFL game) and yet the same person will go to a Test match over 5 days. Never quite get that?

A contest that extends for 5 days and can often result in a draw! o_O No result! Time has expired after 5 DAYS! Well at least they score, unlike the contest of a soccer game, where after all the effort, the hullabaloo, there can be no outcome!! What is the purpose of human endeavour that is so structured to provide no score? NFS!!!!!

They are to be respected and they also have spent a fair bit of time on it. However, their vehemency of Essendon needing to be punished tends to outweigh the realities of the process. The players have been cleared under the same standard of proof that will be in play in the CAS. There is no reason to suggest that the previous arbiters mis-applied the burden of comfortable satisfaction based on the evidence that had been availed to them. You'll find that many of the regulars simply hope that the CAS overturn the original decision. But it generally isn't based on anything more than their view prior to the original determination. Which they got very wrong.

Time will tell.

Positive test results being discovered post the original decision will feature into it. So will truly independent panellists examining the trail of evidence from China through to Dank and Essendon - they may not be so remarkably lenient as the first panel regarding the balance of probabilities.

Soccer - the worlds game for hooligans and desperados. Sorry a game goes for 90 minutes and no goals - boring as bat shit. AFL rules.

Way too many hits to the head.
What a creep. Who would put that to the public.
I see what you're saying, but a more pertinent question might be: who would have that thought? I feel like people shouldn't be congratulated just for successfully caging their disturbed minds. The man needs help.

Didn't think he could go lower than scum level, but he has proved me wrong.

Well, he could have said "last ****"... but then he'd be in even more trouble.

Seriously, waste of space. Needs to get a real job and shut his mouth. Self published autobiography... I hope Ms Duthie is combing it for actionable libel.

I agree. Too stop start and generally aesthetically ugly to watch. I do like Ice Hockey though.

I also find cricket less appealing than it used to be. The ch9 commentary is a disgrace and our pitches are roads. Overseas games are better to watch, as evidenced by the world cup games played in NZ being more exciting than the ones played here.

This year's motoGP championship was easily the year's sporting highlight.
I'm surprised they couldn't get Neil Harvey out to tell everyone how today's batsmen are crap when faced with the slightest adversity (which based on the Adelaide test might be somewhat true).

Did I just hear on the news that Port are having their b&f tonight? WTF? Why not wait until next year? Does anyone give a rats 2 months down the track? Wasn't Kochey available in October or November?

They didn't want them to get in the way of their 2015 premiership celebrations.....

As far as I'm aware, balance of probabilities is the burden of proof required in civil trials. Comfortable satisfaction is what I understand to be the burden for the WADA code. Which is obviously a more difficult burden to satisfy.

But again, your claim that they were remarkably lenient is based solely on the fact that they weren't found guilty which you likely disagree with. Perhaps they weren't comfortably satisfied that each and every player charged had been given TB4.

It will be an anticlimax now because they wanted to have a joint afl & Sanfl one when the players were available.

Do our SANFL team have awards? Aren't they all the same squad, eligible for the same awards?
Yeah, we have Sanfl awards too.

Think wingnut may have won, but not 100% sure.

The both teams together thing is just the excuse after their horrible season, every other club seems to manage it, we did.

I am certain it was all about the premiership celebration. We would have got a post season documentary, following the cup to China or some rubbish.

Everyone else is training for 2016 now and Port are still looking back at 2015? if they had of won it imagine the premiership hangover they would have suffered the following year.
