Can we just assume the gun will match the bid and move on?

With the matched bid, Adelaide will revert to best available South Australian talent.
This becomes a coin toss with Riley Bonner, tall HBF come outside mid, regarded as perhaps the
best kick in the draft or the mercurial undersized KPF/3rd tall Ryan Burton, who has also expressed
the desire to build a tank and become a big bodied midfielder. Burton was a standout performer as
an underager in 2014 before missing the 2015 season with injury.
Given that Adelaide has a well rounded list and has traded in some significant rebounding flankers, and
with no glaring weakness we therefore select the more speculative player with potentially greater upside.
17. Adelaide – Ryan Burton (SA – FWD)
Height: 191cm, Weight: 90kg, DOB: 31/01/1997
Recruited from: North Adelaide

Steal!Pick 18. ST KILDA - RYAN CLARKE
opponent in the air and on the deck and having the ability to read the play well enough to leave his man when needed.Hawthorn are in a very handy position with two picks in the top 20 (before academy). Although I have a few names in my head for this selection... I still may be able to snag another with my following pick.
Call me Cringle Rogers but I'm going to select the best player available... for Hawthorn.
Thus...
Pick 19: Mitchell Hibberd (TAS – DEF/MID)
Height: 191cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 23/09/1996
Hibberd is a 191cm half back/winger with elite kicking and a perfect balance between size and speed. Doesn't play too different to Hawthorns very own Grant Birchall. His style IMO already suits the Hawthorn gamestyle... precision kicking, ability to beat his directopponent in the air and on the deck and having the ability to read the play well enough to leave his man when needed.
MEh. They'll just trade him into the side once he hits the peak of his powers for another first round pick...Reckon the Hawks missed a better half backman there....
Dammit!Reckon the Hawks missed a better half backman there....
I'm going to continue down the path of best player for Hawthorn.
Pick 22: Riley Bonner (SA – UTIL)
Height: 191cm, Weight: 80kg, DOB: 07/03/1997
Bonner is touted as the most accurate (on both sides of the body) and penetrating kick in this years draft pool. Not too dissimilar to my #19 selection Hibberd, Bonner has played his best football across halfback however has potential to become a tall winger in the future. As well as his major strength kicking, Bonner also possess both great aerial ability and cleanliness below his knees. This versatility allows him to match up against both short forwards and talls.
The objective in drafting both Mitchell Hibberd and Riley Bonner is to hopefully... with the right development... to allow one of them to be a Birchall replacement across halfback and the other a prototype tall outside midfielder. Personally I see Hibberd as the more likely type to become a midfielder.
