Unless we have some amazing plan lined up for the last few days we may be in trouble next year. We cant even get a bag of chips for any of the 13. Come on CD, work some magic.

Different times. He is about to go through a experience not dissimilar to that of the primus/choco years.

I know others don't like this but I firmly believe the worst is yet to come.
That video is just f**king depressing. How quickly we've fallen. Is it to early to make him VC?

Not sure...maybe because 1 genuine tall forward who struggled to kick goals. Our main ruckman coming back from 12 months out of the game and a very inexperienced backline. Oh and can i just also throw in the half dozen list cloggers who probably wouldnt get a game anywhere else but seem to be rewarded every week.

Has somebody hacked your account Powerstufff? Chaplin was a significant loss who left with dignity and we should trade Ollie Wines. Dearie me.

Tigerstufff more like it.

I'm fine with a preemptive strike to try and trade a player with maximum value before a potential move in FA. It's just smart management.

WCE list manager Craig Vozzo on 6PR this morning:

"We're looking at quite a lot of players...probably not Matthew Lobbe from Port Adelaide..."

"We had a caller on the rumour file this week Craig, saying that you were off to South Australia??"
"You shouldn't listen to rumours Karl"
"Is that a yes or a no?"
"I think we're here to talk about trade week"

This Goldstein talk is very interesting. Not because I want us to trade for him (Goldstein + Ryder is overkill), but because if he moves elsewhere, suddenly there's a club out there desperate enough for a ruckman to chase Matt Lobbe.
There going to have to be pretty ****ing desperate lol

Is anybody else starting to panic that our ONLY KPF is Dixon and we've done nothing on this front all week? What's CD Cripps and kerns plan? Play ( insert whatever tall forward is there at pick 9 ) all season possibly alone for several games at a time? Trengove? Which is arguably worse !

Wheels feel like they're well and truly off or am I being dramatic?

Me? Or the wider consensus here?
Personally I sadly respected what Chappy and Pearce did in moving on, I think the captain who goes down with the ship is insane and we were the Titanic in 2012.
I have personal reasons for liking Pearce. A friend who taught him in high school spoke glowingly of him. And when I was involved in junior football there were a couple of promotional things the club did where Danyle was brilliant with the kids. He loved being an AFL footballer, his happiness back then was infectious. As a player he was always hovering on the edge of being very good but even at Freo has never got there.
As far as the BF Port board goes I really don't recall seeing any vitriol towards Pearce at all.
What the fuc$ did I just read?

I remember Pearce being absolutely swarmed by kids at a post match function in Melbourne the year before he left. He was actually awesome.

Personally I don’t really think about Chaplin at all, and don’t care that much that he left. The memes are good though.

Why would we trade someone who cant play football for someone who cant play football?

There actually are other players on other lists not getting a go that do actually have something to offer. I know it sounds craaaaazy.
Yep. We're not after someone whose issues with skills or discipline or injury rule them out. We're after the Matty Whites, or Josh Mahoneys who were/are valuable on our list but can't get a proper go elsewhere. Even just good utilities like Peter Walsh. These are the treasures available who don't cost much and make us better. Not necessarily 10 year careers or B&F winners, just guys who are the fluffy dice* on our rear-view mirrors and add a touch of class.
And the think is we probably have guys who could do well elsewhere even if for a few years. Matt Thomas springs to mind, he was genuinely useful for a year or two at Richmond. Sad I can't think of anyone else we let go (not traded) who did well.

* may not actually add class

Aaron Black's last 3 games where in 2015.

Round 5: 6 touches 0 goals. Played due to Waite's omission, Black omitted for next game.
Round 16: Played due to Petrie's suspension, omitted for Petrie.
Round 23: One of 9 changes in round 23 2015 - you know, the game that caused the rule change

So in the last 2 seasons he hasn't played since round 23 2015.

Where he didn't even earn his spot.

He'll be 26 in less than a month.

In 2016 he missed a month through concussion, and straight after missed 6 weeks because of a ankle surgery this year - liability

There is not a footballer in there even if there used to be one.

Even Jay Nash played more football in the two years leading up to being traded to us.

We probably need to make 2-3 changes to our best 22 next year at least, we may not need to make many if any trades to achieve that though.

With that said, if the club comes out and says they will make big changes - implying that they won’t listen to promises from the current group - then follows it up with no trades and a bunch of second chances for serial underperformers its going to be bloody hard to believe that they are serious.

The world changes, so maybe our best move is now to keep these guys, and the club should definitely choose the best move over what looks good, but far out this has been awkward.

Even taking everything you just rattled off into account, the trade would still be a win.

An empty list space would or going into a game with 21 players would be better than Aaron Black.

It would be an incredibly embarrassing result trading for aaron black in any form, even the Port Adelaide Magpies would be embarrassed looking at him.

Serious question. Have you ever seen Black play? I'm not questioning that he's wasted away in the VFL for the past seasons.
