Easy enough. Who do you want at our pick #5 this year?

Fair to assume that McCluggage and McGrath won't be there, so they won't be involved in this poll, but if you do think they will be available, select 'other' and outline your reasons how and why you believe they'll be there fo us at #5.
Ainsworth isn't quite as clear yet, so I'll leave him in for now.
I also think it's pointless slotting in Academy listed players here, so I won't.

Please do give your reasons for your selection if you care to do so...........Off we go.

Pick 5 - Tim Taranto
Gun outside mid that goes forward & kicks goals. SOLD! :)

I'm torn between Taranto & Brodie, right now.

I see Brodie being a ready-to-go midfielder that will be very good for a long time.
Then I see Taranto who may be the cream on a very nice cake, but may take longer to develop.

Pity the Mexican girl can't come into play here..

I've only seen Taranto live which Broadie didn't play in. Taranto has X factor and moves well going forward. In saying that Crippa would pair well with both...

I have always been keen to get Taranto at #5, even before his big finals series but since we didn't bring in any first or second round picks, I have changed my mind to Brodie at #5. Hopefully with Powell-Pepper at 25 if the footy Gods are on our side for once.
I think we have brought in some outside speed with goal kicking ability so that suggests that we will go for more of a mid at 5 than a forward/mid.
Either way, I would be happy with either of those 2 guys, or even any of the prospective #5 picks. The only one I would hope we don't get is Ainsworth because he is more of a forward than a mid. I think that we have that covered with Pickett, Smedts, Sumner, Lamb, Palmer, Wright or even Buckley.
All those guys are capable of kicking goals. Could add Kerridge to that list too now that we have brought in a bit more mid/forward depth.
Buckenara has suggested that we will take English at #5.
I was for that at one stage but after seeing how the draft picks have fallen into place after trade week, I think that we will have one of the gun mids still available at pick 5.

None of the clubs before us will bid on Bowes or Setterfield, so my money is on GCS taking Brodie. Which is a relief because the choice between him and Taranto is too bloody hard.

brodie or taranto seem the choice. ainsworth seems to slip but does everything right and could easily be picked between 1 & 10.

scrimshaw to me is the one with the most upside. has all the tools and is a tall modern day player with a lethal left foot. needs to fill out. he would be my choice. to see him run on the outside of cripps would be awesome

i doubt anyone would agree but i reckon he's the best potential afl player in the draft

My nightmare scenario for the picks prior to us is:

1. McCluggage
2. Scrimshaw
3. Bowes
4. McGrath

I went Taranto at first but then spent the some time watching at Taranto and Brodie clips. Brodie was more impressive and could slot into our midfield in Rd 1. Cripps and Brodie in the middle together. Yes please!

Brodie for mine. Probably does not have as much "upside" as others (really don't rate that term tbh) but really think his inside grunt work could help make Crippa better. THAT is a salivating thought.

I saw Bontempelli in Brodie. Everyone has different views I guess
Inside the Combine - with Jack Scrimshaw

Despite being categorised as a tall defender during the combine, there is more to Scrimshaw than that. While it is easy to compare him to Grant Birchall who is a similar height, a prodigious left foot kick and has played a similar role, Scrimshaw sees himself playing a different position at the top level.

“I spoke to a lot of clubs, they see me as a midfielder and I think I see myself there as well in the future once I get a bit bigger and build up the tank a little more”, Scrimshaw explained.

“As I see myself as a midfielder, I’ve been paying a little bit of attention to Bontempelli through the year. Similar height, left footer, so I think if I’m able to get to his size I’ll be able to do similar things. Obviously, I’ve got a bit of hard work to do to compare to him”.

Brodie for me
You don't get touted as #1 for no good reason
So get the best when you have a chance
Also, I'm hoping for Pickett to return from injury and therefore provide us the run we need
