I raised this on the D&T board but may as well mention it here as well.
Ex-Carlton rookie Luke Reynolds looks to be putting together a pretty good year at SANFL level, having kicked 35 goals in 14 games to date.
I wonder if he's on the radar of AFL clubs heading into next season...and I wonder if we'd consider giving him a second crack.

If I've learnt anything about the draft over the years its that you shouldn't take a ruckman in the first round, you can generally pick one up on the cheap after a few years.

Drafts go through trends, for a while you could only secure a ruck in the first round, then it became about athletic versatile big men and traditional rucks slid down the order, then all of a sudden small midfielders weren't disqualified on size and they started to shoot up the order, then the "athlete" craze died out as more and more flops emerged and it went over to hybrid flanker/mids.
I think English is too good for later in the draft, I think he goes top 10 and I think that after a few years he'll have a sort of Dean Cox about him
McLuggage and Brodie will be gone by our pick, for sure. Not sure what'll happen next but SOS'll have to pick one of SPS, Ainsworth, McGrath, Venables, Marshall or maybe even Scrimshaw IMO unless we get a late bolter. Frankly I'd be happy with any of them and I'd be thrilled if McLuggage or Brodie slide to us by some miracle.

English allegedly botched his draft application last year, so is a year older and more mature than otherwise.
That might make him a surer bet for an early pick.
That said, a fourth rounder for Ladhams or Sweet might equally be as good.
There is a way that we could land Brodie or McCluggage with pick 5.
All we have to do is get one or both of them to pull a Wingard and say they wouldn't like to move interstate.
Essendope have pick one and will take one of Brodie or McClaggagge if they go for a mid.
Brisbane Freo and GCS hold picks 2,3 and 4, they wouldn't use a pick this high on a kid who will likely go home after there first contract.
Get in there ear SOS and make it happen.

We could land either of those guys if a guy outside the top 5 hit explosive form, say Scrimshaw or Venables, Ainsworth proved a winner in the middle and Petrovski-Seton turned it up.

Good list TW. Only huge difference I have is I'd swap Taranto with Rotham. Reckon Rotham is underrated and has a lot of attributes that will serve him well at AFL level.
Thoughts on Clarke and Bolton?

I don't know why Rotham doesn''t grab me too early but he just doesn't for some reason. I think a player like Scrimshaw will get more of the ball as a similar type and Logue to me has slightly better strings to his bow.
Going into Champs i was so-so on Taranto from what i'd read and heard, but i was impressed with how he contributed to his team on the big stages. Had the most score involvements for the carnival.
Clarke and Bolton i don't like their kicking enough to go Top 25 for me.
Would be interested to see others List musings if they have them.
Isn't pick 6 cursed???
