Ogilvie does have a good track record but I'm not sure we should be drafting a smokey with our first again.

I've seen a few draft ratings that placed this Lipinski dude around the 40-50 range. Maybe a pick 43 chance?
Would hope so. Between Reid's "our plan was always to go to the draft" and then to draft a roughy basketballer!

For the record, I don't mind Lipinski. Very athletic. I'd be happy if we picked him at 43.

Wouldn't touch him with 13 though.

I'd be comfortable it's for pick 43

Remember when everyone thought we wanted brayden Maynard with 14 when it was more likely 2nd round ?

We mentioned Lipinski earlier as there he been strong interest

Looking at his combine testing he's not quick but excellent endurance and not a bad size

From us?

Found this by Knightmare on Lipinski

Patrick Lipinski helped Northern to their second win for the season, finishing with 30 disposals (15 contested), seven tackles and six clearances. Lipinski is a 188cm, 79kg midfielder who from his first six games kicked 11 goals. In his first five games this season, he took a highly impressive 10 contested marks, showing he is a threat forward of centre. Lipinski has these past three weeks played a more prominent midfield role, finishing as Northern's best in the past fortnight, with his 32 disposal effort last week also impressive.

Reports on him are that he is quick, athletic, good ball winner, good hands, strong overhead, kicks goals regularly, and accumulates big numbers.

He's 188cm & 79kg.

Sounds like he's a bit of a bolter and has the attributes we need. I want to see vision though. Looking at his numbers & attributes though, it doesn't sound inconceivable for him to be in the frame.

He reminds me a bit of Fiorini

He's not quick in testing . I've got some info of his I'll dig up later and post

It wouldn't actually surprise at 13 knowing Ogilvie and also knowing we need size

Maybe WW was right re contested marking mid after all !!!!

It's always been a pre-requisite of Mids Crows have looked at as midfielders .......have to be able to mark the ball, and goal kicking mids

It's the old Ruck Rover .....you need at least one Mid that's a very good contested mid .....helps on the exit from defense

Lynch supplies that marking out of defense .....Jacobs has got better, but you need aother options so as to be not too predictable

Watch the benefit of Heeneys marking to the Sydney midfield next year

and we will get a Vic metro WA and Vic country one - as they are the best mids in this draft outside of academy ones

It's not the year for SA mids at 13 . 43 will be a chance for sharenberg or Graham

Massive fan of poholke at 43 if he was to be there

Pretty sure Shaz was picked in the u/18 national team of the year in the centre

I doubt schatenberg will be still around by our 3rd rounder. I hope we pick him with 13 - sounds exactly like the sort of player we need.

If we don't take him with 13 port will grab him with one of their top 30 picks.
Scharenberg is definitely NOT the type of player we need.

Would put money on sharenberg to be the first SA kid drafted with graham, Villis and cox in the mix can't see Hayward going in front if any of these guys

You are suggesting Scharenberg, Villis, Cox & Graham will get drafted before Hayward? Want to have a bet?

Marty - it's general consensus that this will not be the case, not just on our board

The only SA kid with chance to be taken 1st round is Hayward so don't make silly bets

He's about the 35th best player in the draft and more of what we've got

We won't be taking an SA kid at 13 unless it's Hayward ( which is also a long shot but at least a shot )

If we take player ranked 35th or higher in the draft with our 13th pick then the AFC needs a kick up its arse for not trading pick 13 for two picks inside the top 30.

SHHHHHHHHhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuttttt uuuuuuppppp!

Lipinski - elite endurance including 10.03 for 3km time trial

Agility was average

Speed over 20m and repeat speed was well below average inc 3.16 for 20m

Clean hands - above average

Kicking tests ( grain of salt ) - below average field kicking and bottom of goalkicking

They don't measure contested ball and contested marking where he would rate above average

Very very confident we are not looking at sharenberg ( especially at 13)
