That was one of the attractions of Stevie J - players and coaches at Geelong were always saying that Dog had a great footy brain and the ability to communicate that to you under players and that he would be a head coach one day. So it was as much for his coaching as for his playing that I was more than happy to take him.

What is Lids' coaching aspirations/abilities?

coaching would make me maybe less opposed to the trade, but I'm still far from convinced.

With the Deledio/Cats deal looking shaky ,but him desperately wanting out of the Tiges, what if we make the call and offer him a 2 year 350pa deal?

He's been a guy who has been well renumerated in his career and is desperate for success, we could use his silk up forward and he could take Stevie J's role in 18'

I def get what you're saying but we are in the flag window. The reality is some of those guys will go regardless and this kind of deal wont really impact. If we can conjure a deal where we get a G1 Player under the odds and subsidised i reckon its good business.

He was still v good this year before he got injured.

Richmond only talking to us re Deledio, they just confirmed on Trade Radio. Basically if they decide to move up the deal will be done I reckon.

If it doesn't upset our cap situation going forward I can see positives if he is keen for the move just concerned going forward these trades can bite you on the ass.

Let's not all fall back into the mentality of a few years ago where all we talked about was keeping kids on the list because they had potential to improve each year... he reality is we are in a window and need to do whatever we can to improve the team NOW.

Does having lids in he 22 make us better? I think it does
