Hey Scott Cummings used to go the other way. 1st year brilliant , get the extension then spud it up. Traded , blitz, spud, rinse and repeat
You're right ....it was the same formula at every club Scott Cummings played for ......first year was always great, then downhill from there

Damn, should have worked out a royalty arrangement for word usage before I posted that. :p
Too late .....you've dumped it now into the public domain .....to now be used by generations of computer nerds ;):p

Kristof , I ask again. Don't hide away now. How much do you think we were paying prior to negotiating our current amazing deal?

I don't know. I can't find evidence of that but I look forward to reading what you have discovered.

"The Crows 2014 Financial Report states:

20 Significant transactions

On the 27 March 2014 the Company entered into a series of transactions with the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), Australian Football League (AFL) and South Australian Government (Govt). These transactions have impacted the financial statements for the year ended 31 October 2014. They include:

• The Company's constitution was amended in March 2014 when the Company gained independence from its traditional owner, the SANFL. The sole voting member is now the AFL.

The Company previously participated in the AFL under a sub-license arrangement with the SANFL. Sub-lease payments were recognised as an operating expense when incurred and committed payments were disclosed in the financial report. This sub-license was terminated.

The AFL has issued a license to the Adelaide Football Club Ltd to field a team in the Australian Football League.

The Company has supported grassroots football in South Australia since 1991 and has agreed to continue to support the development of football in South Australia through a Game Development Grant payable to the SANFL for the next 15 years. A liability has been recognised for these future payments and discounted to present value.

The SANFL granted a rent free lease to the AFC to occupy its headquarters and training facilities at West Lakes until until 2048."

At the press announcement following the SMA Review, it was declared that the value of the rent-free lease agreement was $2m a year.

You can read Rucci's snarky comments about this here: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport...-crows-and-power/story-fnia3nqh-1226874077366

All seems pretty competent and reasonable results. Which I know is far less exciting than Monday-morning quarterbacking and criticisms, but frankly they should be saved for when they're relevant.

Oh, and by the way? What the f*** does "don't hide away" mean? I've engaged in a friendly manner with every patronizing, arrogant statement you've made, so I've hardly hidden away. Frankly, there's very little in what you've posted that merits discussion, but I've tried to be reasonable. If you're going to act like a complete dick, I'm not sure why anyone would bother responding.

Yes we can see by this post ......seems you value very little, a lot of posters contributions .....maybe you could contribute a bit more rather than lurk and critiquing posters ;)

Looked in intersport at afl gear yesterday.

A port Guernsey was fifteen bucks more than a crows guernsey and five bucks dearer than everyone elses. Port hats scarfs,t shirts were all more expensive

well north are giving us the defensive template to dismantle them dogs next week

Looks to me the blueprint is stand unmarked on the half-back line and let them kick the ball straight to you.

If we play to a similar level as our first 5 games and the Bulldogs serve up this rubbish they will be smashed. The amount of turnovers they made was ridiculous. The only thing that saved them was the Kangaroos being equally terrible in turning the ball over.

Seems like nearly every second week we're up against a team with something to prove. Got North in Rd 1 when they hadn't won in R1 for years, got Richmond after a bad beat, got the Hawks after they nearly dropped the St Kilda game, got Freo this week after losing to Carlton, had Sydney while they were still undefeated. And now the Doggies after their worst performance.

Meh, I think you're looking into it too much. If the Doggies had won you could say that the Doggies would be trying to prove that their win against the Kangas wasn't a fluke.

No, I value a lot of posters contributions, Wayne.

As a matter of fact, other than most of your "posts", I value the vast majority of what is written here.

And I try to just post when I've factually got something to contribute, instead of just dribbling.

Thanks for just quoting one paragraph out of a long post, by the way, and then suggesting I should be contributing more.

Why would that be?

Doggies will be found out this year. I wasn't sold coming into the season, feel like the writing was on the wall. Unfortunately I thought Collingwood would be a mover.......... Got that wrong.

North still didn't score a lot.

We must not fall for the stupidity of bombing the ball in long just because they are short!

They flood back, create packs and clear it with space when at their best. Turnovers killed them tonight.

We need to burst forward when we have clear space but otherwise we need to be methodical, take the short options at times, stretch their defence while setting ours up behind the ball.

Surely we do exactly what we did against the Swans and hit up our leading forwards around the 35-40m mark. Playing at Etihad with the roof closed should make marking easier compared to a dewy Saturday night game.

Yeah but he gets undue credit for achieving less than he should have.

They talk about him as if's equal toAndrew McLeod or that elk of player but he's not even close (IMO)

I might have heard people say that he moves like McLeod, but I've never heard anyone say he is as good as McLeod. Still a handy player, considering we could have had him instead of Carey. What year did Carey retire? 10+ years ago?

Crows have the type of players to get the job done. Dogs will probably be working this week on making better decisions and hoping to hit more targets, just need to put them under pressure. Still a very solid team, but they probably have too much grunt in the middle and lack a bit more outside class atm. I think Crows are a better balanced team overall, which is why you beat them in the EF last year. Bev has done a pretty good job with the Dogs though.

It doesn't help that they've lost 3 of their better distributors off half-back in the last month. So now those kicks are being made by less skilled, less experienced players. Not surprisingly, those players are not hitting as many targets.

Too bad the Kangas seemed to like kicking it straight back to them. The game could have been a big win otherwise.

Mmm .......didn't you just say .... "And I try to just post when I've factually got something to contribute, instead of just dribbling"

Ok ....so this was factual, not dribbling and a valid contribution :p
