Can someone tell me is he being charged for DUI? Is that even on the table?
Surely the AFL would have to ask the Power if they purposely kept/ instructed him from attending the police station till the next day.

Very, very unlikely he will be charged with DUI as they need to have tested his BAC within 2 hours of the incident.

This may not be over. Must smell as bad to the cops as to us.

It may be a long bow, but how is the power "advising him of the legal issues" that much different to the GWS situation?
Granted different issues but still! How isn't the club liable for some sort of AFL action not so much legal!

Wonder where he spent the night... was it the same location he told ASADA about? :D

The GWS issue wasn't an issue for the AFL until the media made it one, the AFL sat on it for 12months, so this won't be an issue unless the media makes it one and they won't.

The story changes a lot doesn't it.
So two in the car.
Did two also walk to Grange ?
Were 2 bikes acquired?
Did they dinky ?

This is so dodgy, so Port say they couldn't reach Impey because he left his phone in the car, what about Johnson then?

Graham Cornes says it was due to him looking for his phone, why wasn't his passenger looking for it?

Very obvious what has happened here but the media will swallow it.

Johnson was clearly wiping their phones and booking holidays to Bali so he can lose them ;)

Krak gets six weeks for being an innocent bystander and having jaw broken.

Impey gets one week for crashing into a car, then driving off and crashing again down the road (into a team mates car) and then running away from the scene.

Seems legit...

Port Pear, masters of the non-sequitur.
How the f*** does ANYTHING any Crows' player, staff member, supporter or cat have anything at all to do with Impey's indiscretions?

How did Poort eventually contact Impey if his phone was left in his car? He hadn't returned to his residence so Poort must have contacted him via a "friend's phone" or perhaps they randomly tried phone numbers for 5 hours.

IMHO there were calls between other Poort players and the Poort admin. Perhaps they found out who he was with and phoned that player/person. The whole thing smells of everyone trying to cover things up and stopping him visiting the police until he was feeling a bit better.

Its not kids being kids, its a douche being a douche. 99% of 18-21yo are fully productive members of society who are working hard to earn a living. So this argument about too much pressure on young kids in the AFL is silly. Do people think Med / Vet school would be any easier? Year 12 is consistently suggested as way to much pressure for 17yo. So yeah an an 18yo highly paid AFL footballer trumps them all.....please.

Being an AFL player isn't hard work? I know it's a dream 'job' for lots of these guys but they have the risk of injury, or just not being good enough - and then it's over. Not the most stable career.

That age range is still when the brain is developing - it's a fact that young people find it harder managing emotions, handling risks etc. There's a reason why car rental companies don't usually rent out to under 25's (if they do it's pricey)

Is it a douche being a douche? Possible. It's silly to pretend that hard working, productive members of society in that age range don't mess up sometimes too.

There's no excuse for it - he has to take responsibility for his actions, sometimes there's other factors that come into it though. The fact he hasn't been in trouble before and that he's young. If he does it again he'll be a certified douche.

Oh please, they want this to disappear as quickly as possible. Have a look at how they did nothing about Whitfield until the media started to continually question about it. Optics, the AFL way.

Literally nobody has said this, though. Or at least, not on this forum.

They may grieve differently. I don't really know but it's not that hard to imagine. That may go some way to explain Impey's actions (or maybe not), but nobody has said this means he deserves a lesser penalty.

Why did it need to be mentioned then?

Yeah will be forgotten about till any court hearing where he will get a good lawyer/AFL footballer discount.
