All good I think the club will keep him he's still under contract so the deal would have to favor us massively if he does leave.

He was playing at Swan Districts FC which is in Perth.

I also personally played against him at basketball in Kalamunda, which is also in Perth. This was literally only a few years ago.

He was FIFO according to himself. I worked FIFO and found plenty of time to still play sports.

Basically what I was saying is that he has been living away from home since he was 14 in Tom price initially and also spent a bunch of his offseason in Sydney instead of Perth. This isn't what a homesick personality does

Sigh. The draft points are only relevant to the clubs who need them: the academy clubs. 4&8 is far superior to 1&19 in such an even draft. Also, not every trade is about win-win and making sure everyone wins all round, it's about securing needs.

The points are relevant as the AFL says they'll rate trades by them, and too big a discrepancy will cause them to intercede. Which you're proposal would do. It is also relevant that this is the statistical basis of the value of a pick, and although certainly not always true, a good baseline to compare value. And suggesting to add pick #19 heavily skews the trade into Suns favour, instead of being win-win.

On a needs basis, well that will be an opinion of each individual as to what their needs are. Do they need #1 more than some late 1st round/2nd round picks? As I said, opinions will differ on that.

I never said GCS don't benefit, hence the no reply; I said the Bombers benefit way too much beyond belief. Your fans couldn't care less about satisfying the opposition, just as long as you make out like bandits.

You say yourself that the Suns do benefit, so your problem isn't that the deal doesn't meet the Suns benefit, its that we benefit too much. Which given if our third is included the points differential is small, is a little ridiculous.

The advantage Essendon gets from the even draft is just matching the advantage Suns get from being able to add the #1 draftee to Bowes and Scheer, meaning they also make out like bandits at the top end of the draft.

More important than QLD players is making sure the club draft players they actually need, and Bowes is not one of them unless Rockliff leaves. They picked up two inside mids last year, I highly doubt they'll blow their first pick on another based on the fact that the player is from Queensland.

We'll have to just agree to disagree. I think Brisbane should focus on getting Queensland talent to offset the go-home factor, and have enough holes that young talent anywhere is good. You obviously disagree.

But it's still a win-win, the Suns get a player before Bowes is bid on, and Essendon get two top ten-ers. Why is it not a win-win? Is it just that you want to be on the better side of the points equation?

We have 2 ruck/fwds coming through next years academy, one has played NEAFL for us this year so this is not a desperate need. We need a mature Mumford back up though so unless Simpson is not up to it or moving on. I'd rather pick up somebody like Minson.
