theres been a lot of talent at BHH since we started our partnership with them and it would be a shame to miss out like we have on a few in the past

some notible BHH Players:
Sam Mitchell (Haw/WCE)
Michael Firrito (North)
Ben McGlynn (Haw/Syd)
Ed Curnow (Carl)
Robbie Campbell (Haw)
Sam Gibson (North)

*there are a dozen others that had smaller careers in the AFL

i just think those 3 (Brolic/Jones/Switkowski) are better than VFL standard and might have a chance at being AFL Players, Brolic looks like a ready made player, maybe a Flanker or inside mid type, Jones is a great contest player and takes a good grab, he is a bargain KPP option for at least squad depth and Switkowski has a lot of ability and skill.... whether they make it or not, they are worth considering with late draft picks and rookie contracts ect

Fair enough. It's a good rationale. I'm wondering whether they either a/ fill a need for us; or b/ will end up being best available at that pick.

Given that, perhaps Jones, and maybe switkowski.

Young Hugh Dixon going very well. kicked 4 in the first quarter of a recent TSL game.

Nice!!
That is a well timed hanger!
Difficulty was up there with them both traveling forward. Far from a step ladder scenario.

His father has sent me more footage of recent TSL games but not sure how to put them on here. He sent them via dropbox as they are 200meg

You'll need to upload them to a streaming service like YouTube first. Or Vimeo.

Dixon is a really interesting talent, and I have him in my top 40 picks for this draft. In fact - I don't think he should last til our first pick. It seems Bizarre to me that some people don't even have him in their top 50 or 60 players. His champs were good- and like other talls such as Crossley (ruck) Hugh showed himself to be one of the more sneaky/cheeky key talls, capable of dominant crafty periods, and with plenty of footy smarts.

I like Switta but doubt he will get picked up. Looks to have got himself super fit and has had a ripper of a year but hard to see where he can improve.

Brolic has improved this year but for his size his I doubt he has the speed for AFL.

Lane or Kilpatrick are both pretty raw but both are quick and may be worth a shot.

Lane has come out of no where (from the 23rd player I know but you know what I mean). He has played some A grade games this year. Interesting he is trying to find his feet since being injured a couple of weeks back.

Brolic at Box Hill looks a likely type as a late pick in the draft
You may be right Howe Amazing. Box Hill Hawks just put up disposals for the 2017 season and Brolic was 2nd with 349 behind Andrew Moore with 404. Brolic has also kicked 18 goals to date. Played some seriously good footy this year, great hands, great feet and can mark as well. Hopefully he gets picked up in the draft this year.

A nice little snippet on the AFL site Draft Stars with some onsite on the two boys I mentioned in the opening post

Hear me out, mature ager from Casey - Bayley Fritsch. He kicked 40 goals this season as a HFF and was in the best for a clear majority of their games, deadly kick too. Decent height at 186cm and isn't a REAL mature ager, only 21.

Very interested in this guy VandoHawk mentioned previously....

Aiden Bonar (190 kg 89kg Utility): Skilful, powerful and with above average disposal, Bonar has one of the highest ceilings of any player in this draft. He has fantastic work ethic that translates itself into tackles and hardness at the ball. The problem? Two ACL’s. Unfortunately for Bonar the start to his career has been hampered by two serious injuries. Though these seemingly haven’t impacted his ability to run (part of his rehabilitation was being a runner for Haileybury) he has only recently returned to playing. Regardless, if the medical staff believe these injuries can be managed then Bonar primes as one of the steals of the draft.

A couple of good testing appearances at the combine.
Fingers crossed we are making some manoeuvres to target guys like this.
I get a sneaky suspicion that GW has a couple of rippers to target in the second round & would love another pick or two to play with.

Nice work Vando

Jordan Houlahan is one I hope we have on the radar. Super talented kid with both fantastic footballing smarts and athletic attributes. Lightning fast with X-Factor and great kicking skills. Can break games open - think Jamie Elliot. Could potentially play midfield minutes too.

23. Joel GARNER – Eastern Ranges
DOB: 21/5/99 | Ht: 183.2cm | Wt: 80.8kg | Medium Defender

The highly-regarded left footer has had a disappointing second half of the season after doing well down back in the national championships with Vic Metro.

He has been thrown all over the field with both Scotch College and the Eastern Ranges and hasn’t been able to find any real consistency in finding the footy. He does though have plenty of talent and good attributes, but his ranking has slipped due to his form.

Big Board 1.0 Ranking: 6

I for one am glad Garner has slipped a bit, because he still has a huge ceiling and I think he'd be the best fit for us.
