AFL website doesn't have this. There's only the mention of Jones and Mirra. Where are you seeing it?

Also, seems Krueger was not picked up at all.
I hope the AFL recruiters enjoy their dreams.....

Don’t you mean”who will take his spot”

I like your optimism!

But I would say our rnd 1 backline looks like:
Hardwick Frawley Stratton
Birchall Brand Sicily

This is assuming Gunston returns to the forward line and Burton pushes up the ground.

Don’t know who Mirra would knock out.

Overall, we drafted a group with outstanding attitudes - hard at the ball and persistent on the field; and hard-working, striving-to-improve off it.

At the same time, we've shown TV and Billy (and his dad, "Damir") the door.

Can't help thinking Clarko & GW are trying to tweak the culture of the playing group, following the unHawthorn-like start to the 2017 season.

So we didn’t pick up a ruck - we are going into 2018 with just Ceglar and Mcevoy. Seems Risky to me.

my take on us only having 3 ruckmen is that the game has turned into a 1 ruck system in the last couple of years and so the need for 4-5 ruck options isnt as necessary (2 ruck system is a luxury not a need), also TOB is a 4th ruck option which gives him more value than just his forward work alone.....

After how McEvoy went playing ruck solo (with guys like TOB pinch hitting) in 2017 it might indicate that Clarko plans to only use one dedicated ruckman in 2018.

On the main list, his salary counts towards the cap. On the rookie list it doesn't, except, I think, for match payments.

Willsmore gets paid regardless, so it's no difference to him, but for the club's salary cap, it matters.

Are you sure about this as it sounds like a 'get out of jail free' card for clubs who have signed players to long contracts who are no longer wanted. For example, lets say Buddy sustains an injury that redu es him to half the player he is and the Swans want to move him to the Rookie list so his salary is now out of the TPP? How does the AFL administer this type of rorting?

Would of thought the AFL were the kings of Rorting....Don't they call it Equalization these days ??? And the fact your talking about Sydney, they would probably just accommodate them !!! Just the other day they extended an Irish players rookie contract that had technically expired, and he should be off their rookie list and heading back to Ireland, by bending the ruling of a law, because of sympathy for the Brisbane Lions and their current position in the competition.

Its becoming a farce with all these silly rule changes and manufactured outcomes, they are coming up with. I know that does not answer your question, but EVERYTHING they are changing or adjusting at the moment, is simply a manufactured rort to favour some, and to disadvantage others.

As per our current situation with Vickery, the cap space allocated to a free agent pickup remains even if they are actually retired/ paid out. So Buddy would still chock up a heap of the salary cap which you couldn't shift to the rookie list

Correct. The Buddy rule was designed for this reason. AFL were filthy Syd stole Bud from GWS at the time. Hence trade penalties etc.
