Yep. Lets give that a miss this time around

No wonder he wanted to leave.

No coincidence that he played his best footy and was the most settled in his first year while living at the Merrett's. Was a shame Dan sold his house with the seperate living area downstairs that Josh lived in. Dan is a pretty chill laid back guy and i can't help feel that helped schache fit in pretty easily with them. Wasn't till he moved out with some of the guys that he really started to struggle on field at least.

He played a few games as an inside mid late in the year and has shown good hands, strength in the contest and is one of those players that has really impactful moments. Combined with his athleticism he's a tantalising prospect. Potential coming out the wazoo.
Goodo, thanks for reply. Do you see this potential coverting into a full time mid or a half forward that can spend some time in the midfield. And with 2 knee surgeries already ( granted the second surgery was a re-do of the first) do you see him as an injury risk.

If you happened to see the Allstars game as I did...he was a dominant onballer but I guess u can ask what sort of pressure is in an all star game .

I would think any team taking him does so with the expectation he becomes a full time mid, which is what I'd like him as, but I really couldn't say that definitively or if he has any risk of further injury. I'd imagine he plays as a full-time mid in the reserves but he'd probably play as a third tall with some time in the midfield at seniors, if he even gets a senior game in his first year. His endurance is pretty low as you'd expect with so much time without playing but he's supposed to be a very hard-worker who employed a very professional approach during his rehabilitation period so he should be able to turn that around reasonably quickly in a full time football environment. You'll find more knowledgeable people on the D & T board who could give you accurate assessments about his long term future.

No. He did one knee and the reconstruction wasn't done properly so required a second surgery to correct it which resulted in him missing almost two years of footy.

Poor bugger. Amazing resilience - didn't three the towel in when his peers were improving.

Other than the childish enthusiasm for double entendres what is the push for bonar. Widely stated we need mids, often said by the club we are going to the draft to get mids, how does bonar fit into our recruitment needs especially when ballenden and possibly payne are likely to be selected.
how does bonar fit?Ha ha

There were some kids at my school I didnt like!!!!
Thank you. We throw out some tedious examples of factors that might entice young players to stay here. I know I wouldn't move interstate because a guy that happened to go to my school or live next door to me was in my team.

It could quite concievably be a reason NOT to want to be drafted to that "interstate" team

Not everyone at the same school are best of buddies even if they play in the same footy team.

There have been examples at AFL level where teammates can't stand each other.

Tyson Edwards and Andrew McLeod apparantly hated each other.

Leppa and Aker didn't get on at all, to the point where Aker was the only person in that team that WASN'T invited to Leppa's wedding.

Could be good or not so good

Don't really think that was the problem. Schache played his best football while bunking with the Merretts. It was only after he moved away from Sauce's delicious rare-ham and unwashed-vegetables cuisine that the problems started.

If Brisbane are smart they will take Rayner and put him up with Luke Hodge, then draft his mate from the Western Jets Fogarty (who can also play) at either 15 or 18 so he's got a mate straight off the bat. Brissy culture has turned so much in one year. If this kid is the star many people (inc. myself) believe, offer him a stupid deal halfway through his first year that would be hard to say no too and back in our cultural growth and back in a Hodgey or Dayne Beams to take him under the wing.
Put him up with the veteran who was done for drink driving in the last couple of years
