Good we don't have to worry about the Bombers not turning up or flood in Qld in the pre-season comp.
The saints are simply jinxed when it comes to pre-season games.

Unfortunately I can see it now;
  • Round 1 - Roof collapses at Etihad after the stadium’s new owners the AFL award maintenance contract to retired Aeroflot engineers.
  • Round 2 - Match cancelled after discovery of the bones of underworld figure in plain paper bags buried beneath the centre square at Carlton’s headquarters.
  • Round 3 - Ground under water at Lavington after Hume Weir overflows from James Packer’s tears following his break up with Mariah Carey
Probably won't play a game at all

Surely we can give him the night off after all the service he has provided us?
Mmmmm, big decision for Jake

Play for the Saints, win all the supporters respect and his Sister reminds him of his choice FOREVER.
Don't play, Saints win (didn't need him anyway so all cool) OR Saints lose (Instant whipping boy, not committed, but his Sister is his greatest fan).

Just PLAY JAKE!!!!!!!!!
You only have one team,,,, oh wait!

Maybe we could adopt parliamentary practice and arrange a "pair" with the Demons.

I would nominate that bloke Hogan

To which he replies "who's bright idea was it to schedule the wedding on the weekend of R1 of the footy season!?"

St Kilda vs GWS on Friday night in round 7 should be HUGE. We should pack the place out.

It will be a good test to see if our latent supporter base has returned to the fold.

If we do pack the place out we are back. Big time.

It's a much more balanced fixture for us this year which I really like. My big gripe with last year was that, yes, overall it was a somewhat easy fixture but the start was awful and for a club building like us it isn't ideal to get behind the eight ball from the get go.

Adelaide, Geelong and West Coast at the G (where WC are terrible), Gold Coast at Metricon and us at a ground they've won their last 16 or 17 in a row at and you reckon they might lose all of them? o_O I hope you're right!

I reckon Adelaide and Geelong will beat them.

Gold Coast won't be a gimme either if the Suns get some of their players back. They gave us a touch-up on election night this year.

Looking at that fixture and being RELATIVELY conservative, I can see 13 wins. That is without us winning interstate once and losing to the Dees at the G, but beating Geelong and Syd at Etihad. Double ups against Richmond and North is a big win I think as both will be poor (but you never know). The Dees double up looks good on paper but surely they are due to get one against us?

Anyway if we keep improving I see finals next year. Ample opportunities to take some fresh scalps (eg GWS at home again) and ample opportunities to at least be competitive interstate and maybe get a win, starting round 2 (big game).

Pumped.

He bloody well plays. He's missed a year of football and he's contracted.

This is business and he owes us big time. Stuff the wedding. That's her fault for scheduling it at the start of the footy season.

Pretty sure it's cheaper to reschedule a wedding than change the AFL fixture.

It's 5 months out, surely she can reschedule if she really wants him there. Change it to a 12pm wedding rather than a 3pm one and keep the reception at 7. Simples.

Question regarding attending matches in Perth. Would it be hard to get a ticket for the Sat night Perth game? Moving to WA next year and thinking I might trek down for that one.
Yes it will be. If you get one it will down the city end behind the goals. Best to try and get corporate or friends that are members.

Yeah, I reckon they'd be very happy with their draw indeed. Bit disappointed really, as the AFL had the opportunity to give them a really tough draw to perhaps help to drop them down the ladder and give some other teams a chance to shine, as I reckon most of us are pretty sick of seeing the sight of Hawthorn up the top of the ladder.

Sauce?
Yes?
