2017 Grand Final - Who wears the clash jumper?

That's hilarious coming from a Collywood supporter. No-one else has a green jumper so let's make Collywood's jumper all green...

I'm not proposing a change of the club's trademark colours, just a shift in how those colours are presented the majority of the time. I feel like it would be advantageous to the Tigers and the league. At the very least it would be a big money-spinner in a successful period.

I'm happy for people to come up with alternate presentations of Collingwood's colours too. I feel like a primarily white strip with a logo, similar to Carlton and Freo, would be a decent alternate option to have available at times as well.

if ADE vs RIC would eventuate, then surely the Crows get the home guernsey at the very least..........given the two clubs match-day uniforms, they should get the full home.

will qualify for GF as still the first seed by winning their QF
are in the top half of the finals draw - listed as first match-day team for GF

obviously this will all be overlooked though

That's what it should be. Nice and simple. No need to worry about coin flips or anything.

Just let the top ranked team pick first and the other team then picks whatever strip they want that doesn't clash.

Unfortunately this is the AFL we're talking about, who put the umpires in blue in a game where the Bulldogs were wearing primarily blue (totally get it was for a good cause, but it was still an incredibly dumb decision). So who knows what they will actually do.

Honestly don't care what we wear, as long as we make the grand final.

Though should it eventuate, as the minor premiers and the higher ranked team Adelaide should get to wear their home jumper.

This doesn't have to be strictly framed as an Adelaide v Richmond thing. There are plenty of potential grand final match-ups this year that would be better off with the lower-ranked team wearing their clash jumper, including: Adelaide v Port/WCE, Richmond v Port/Essendon/WCE, GWS v Sydney, Port v Essendon, Essendon v WCE

But, when in Rome:

Anybody who says the jumpers on the right aren't more distinguishable than on the left is being disingenuous. With that in mind, why would we not want the more distinguishable option used for the most important match of the year? The only reason I've read so far is "tradition" which only holds up once you take off the sponsor's logos, revert to woollen lace-ups and travel to the match via horse-and-cart.

I'm wondering what the umpires will wear. Because that Richmond clash jumper looks like it will be pretty close to what the umpires wear... so you'd be certain the AFL will choose that.

I think Richmond in white shorts and possibly some different socks is difference enough. Although Richmonds clash jumper is one of the better and more logical clash jumpers in the league.

Hooped socks on both teams helps create a messy look too. Could one side go for a solid colour? Or a single yellow hoop on the Tiger Socks?

When teams come up with their designs for clash / away jumpers, they should only present designs that they would be happy to wear in a grand final.

Keep the jumpers but the only change for me would be Richmond to wear white shorts but I still find it silly we need clash jumpers,Crows have navy blue shorts and Richmond black,Crows have hoops,Richmond have a sash,I blame the Apple age and failing eyesight for the introduction of clash jumpers.

Seeing as though we beat you earlier in the season reckon if anyone's going to wear a skirt it should be your guys

I think the fairest thing to do would be to make it as who ever has the worst % after the prelim wear the clash. If me make it and Adelaide have a higher % then we should wear our clash strip.

Nar there's nothing worse than watching a group of 20 players within 15 metres of each other and both teams wearing dark guernseys. Needs to be light against dark. It's like watching Carlton play Collingwood when both teams wear their dark strips

Pretty sure we weren't allowed to have our current clash jumper for some time because it was too much like the WA SOO jumper, and some in WA got their noses out of joint at the prospect.
