I'm not as keen on that as you are, but if Adelaide are going to pull the same crap as last year, expect their requests to look more like:My point is that the option is:
2017 Gibbs for Crows 1st and 2nd -17 and 40 (in a so called weak draft)
v
2019 Gibbs for band 2 FA - pick 19
So effectively 2 years of Gibbs for pick 40 or so
I would take option 2 every day. Crows aren't going to offer anything better or put up a player of any value, and I don't blame them. Though in hindsight Kelly would have been a good pick up as the steak knives. Deal won't get done.
They won't get a PP, but there's a possibility of band 1 for Rockliff.I don't think Brisbane will be too sorry to see Schache go.
They have #1 this year, have Ballenden coming in cheap and will get something good for Schache.
All that and then they'll go to the AFL and have a better reason to ask for another Priority Pick. Maybe they've already done so.
[In the CFC offices]was this a B52's pun?
Love shack .... bang bang on the door (baby) ?
if not, never mind
Hearing Kelly to North is pretty much done deal (going there for money and went for them as a kid).
I wouldn't be against trading pick 3 for Schache + Brisbane's second round pick (they will get a priority pick anyway). Schache only signed on for 2 years to keep media away apparently. Getting him allows us to play Curnow as a mid who rests fwd and Schache is right in the age bracket of the list that we need. I am not sold that he is a great player but imagine having a forward line with McKay at his peak, Schache at his peak and then Charlie resting forward it would do so much damage.
That would apply if he wasn't contracted............
So can Rockliff TBF.
He had his chance and he said no. Its a no from me.
Are you hearing that from a north fan?
Are you hearing that from a north fan?
Yeah because i'm pretty sure no one else is hearing that

I get what you're saying, but it doesn't fit the bill when a player is under contract. What a player is worth uncontracted or contracted.
But you can't add what he is worth to us when that determining value, then you get scenarios of 2 first round picks and you won't get that for Gibbs.
Determine his true value, if another club meets or exceeds that value, do the deal or say he is not on the table, simple as that
Yep, and Brisbane can't expect too much for him in return or they'll effectively be a player down until his contract expires.who signs a two year deal and then pisses off. confirms my uneducated guess about his character. dont want
Nah I don't think my mate has bigfooty just a high up member at north. Is your mate Snake Baker?

They need to pay a premium / overs / whatever you want to call it, or SOS won't trade him..........
It would be a stupid argument, however, because they are responsible for profiling the players they draft and making the environment conducive to the players wanting to stay at the club. They also have what they get in the trade coming back to them and with whatever compensation they get back, they will only set the same cycle in motion again. I'd doubt they'd use any compensation to get in more mature talent that won't bail on them at any opportunity and what non local talent would want to go there, anyway? Any compensation should be monetary or a slight beefing up of their academy zone.Should they lose Schache I can absolutely see them running to the AFL asking for a PP.

Yeah, I know but you just had to quote my post before I had a chance to edit the grammar and spelling.I agree with you, just saying that I can see them doing it though.

Curious...if we weren't limited to dealing with Adelaide and he could go to any club, what would a fair trade for Gibbs be?
Fair enough, mate. Agree to disagreeI agree with that, but not 2 x 1st round draft picks.
Rather than say pick 10 on its own, I would be happy with a latish 1st & 2nd, gives us the opportunity to draft 2 quality kids. Unless of course it is a pick and a player
