Thank you master, I feel a sense of peace already!!
Not sure I can handle the patience part though, I bet a mate (who is an arrogant Cats supporter) $100 that we would make the 8 next year and another $100 we would finish ahead of Geelong, haha

Either drunk, extreme coercion or just plain dumb?

Last $100 I threw out there head to head was a confidence in our revival vs WCE’s drop in fortunes and an A. Simpson sacking on the cards.
Turned out correct some way but reversed with MM sacked, us wooden spooners and them playing in the GF. The year, 2015.

Basically... What you are saying is that it takes 6 seasons to rebuild a team?

We'll see good signs 2019 and 2020 should be knocking down the door of the top four thereafter we'll be a powerhouse for quite a few years.
The shambles of the last decade will be history and buried never to be repeated as we evolve and progres administration , coaching, team culture, and playing list. This club has had a very abrupt and rude awakening. Go Baggers

Delightful to hear bolts digs Pickett as I have some bias towards the young man. I genuinely feel he has the tools and talent to be an absolute star of the afl, but as many others it requires encouragement and nurturing. I have confidence that bolts, consciously or not, acts with and for interpersonal equity, and appreciates individual needs and desires. Love my club. And and and and and and and and...

I have gone back and looked at the ruckmen already on our list and was surprised to find out that Phillips is nearly as old as Kreuzer & Lobbe (they are all 27-28yo). I initially proposed Jake Spencer as a recruiting option purely as insurance given there are injury clouds hanging over all three and we cannot afford to leave ourselves vulnerable.

However, I am now certain we will be trying to bring in another ruckmen this year but a much younger one. At present, Scott Jones from East Perth would seem like a very shrewd investment given he is 22yo and is 204cm.

Big framed, he could be given 2-3 years to get up to speed at AFL level at which time, you'd have to think at least one of the main three will be close to pulling the pin.

Hartung does not seem up to it unless being spoon fed multiple possessions. Given their disposal ability, would rather we were giving the ball to SPS and Fisher instead of Billy.

This looks odd randomly posted here, moved from another thread where it was a response to someone else.

Stand by the sentiments though

not for mine - weits & doc down back - build our wall and man the barricades down there for the next decade

Totally agree. Build the defence first and with Weitering Docherty Marchbank Willo Byrne Plowman we have the making of a great defence for the next 6-8 years plus. It's not only individually but how they work as a group that is important. Doc is a great defender, leave him there. The midfield will take care of itself.

Patience grasshopper! We are building our midfield slowly but surely, and it will be centred around a lot of early draft picks and likely a star FA later down the line. Similar story with the forward line. When the time comes, our team will be a mighty one.

There is some elite talent in that group. This years draft and one more draft trade period and we will be set. Watch SOS land a big fish during that time as well. Just to add a Kelly or a Sloane or a Gaff (as examples) to our young group will make a massive difference

I'd be happy enough to take a look at Ramsay as a DFA.

I liked the look of him previously and think he could potentially develop into a reasonable small defender.

Obviously he had a really poor 2017 but that's coming back from a serious knee injury, which I reckon is pretty common with players struggling to readjust to the pace of top level football after a year out of the game.

There's no downside to giving him another year to see if he can get back to his best. At 23 he's certainly young enough to turn things back around if the body permits.

I think we are on the verge of a gamebreaking side.

In my mind the backline is already set.

FB: Plowman Weitering Williamson
HB: Byrne Marchbank Docherty

That back six is better than any other young back six in the league. All mobile. All talented. All very good kicks. What a team to be brining it out of defence.

Midfield needs a bit of work still.

R: [????] Cripps SPS
C: Fisher Kennedy Cuningham
Int: Pick #3, Pick #10, Boekhurst, 2018 1st

We need to hit the midfield with our first round picks this season and next. Cripps and Kennedy are already very good and SPS is a class talent. When the draft picks mature we'll have one of the most talented midfield groups going around.

HF: Kerridge Curnow Lang
FF: Silvagni McKay Pickett

Forward line definitely still needs work, and it may be something we address at pick #30 this year, or through a trade or FA next off season. But what we do have there.. SOS, Charlie, Harry and Pickett have talent to burn and Kerridge and Lang provide a lot of run and pressure.

Its a side we can win a premiership with and we're only about four or five pieces away from locking it in. Experience of Murphy, Curnow, Wright, Casboult, Simpson, Rowe, Jones, Thomas cannot be overstated either. Im so excited.

Worth a look at the very least, I agree. Not Oxley though, he can find the ball but is a poor kick.
