One thing which I'm not worried about is losing a HB 'general' people forget that we played Weitering up forward for a lot of the year who is naturally suited to the role.

Weitering, Plowman and Marchbank are all enforcers with plenty of smarts. I can see the loose man role being replaced by Weitering and not really losing much in the process.

Plowman Jones Weitering
Byrne Marchbank Williamson
Murphy Cripps Docherty
Pickett Casboult SPS
Fisher McKay Silvagni

Kruezer Curnow Kennedy

Cuningham Ed Rayner Lang

That's as strong a defence and Midfield as you will will find.

Murphy, Docherty, Cripps, Kennedy, Charlie, SPS

That should be our core midfield with everyone else interchangeable around them. A full preseason working together and that midfield will be a lot stronger than this years.

In fact, show me a side with a more talented top 6 mids (bar GWS)

Any insight into what went wrong with Blaine Boekhurst? He was a pretty high pick wasn't it? Was he a bad egg?

I'm 43 and have become slightly overweight over the last 2 years (so slightly every day that I've barely noticed until now). If I was the number 1 draft pick in 2018 National Draft, and I didn't work out.....it wouldn't necessarily be a reflection on my character or resemblance to bad eggs. It would have more to do with the fact that I should never have been picked at #1.

I'm happy that the list management team have had the courage to make some bold decisions that others haven't made previously.

All respect and thanks to the players delisted. I've supported you all tirelessly, while you wore the navy blue.

I do feel bad for Boeky. His late form warranted at least another year. Maybe a rookie spot (though there is no mention of it).

But at the same time, it was whether he was going to play a huge part going forward. He was after all a draft mistake from the Malthouse/Rogers era (we took him far too early).
Boek for all his late form got games only when we has Cripps, Ed, Marchbank, McKay, Williamson and Buckley all injured, and Graham suspended at the end of the year.

Boeky no doubt delisted for that ridiculous hairstyle.

SOS looked at the calendar, realised it was a day before Movember started.

Then looked at Boeky and realised his mo' was not for charity purposes but actually.....*gasp*..... Deliberate!?!

Nek minnut..... Delisted

Sydney, Geelong and Collingwood go okay.

A little surprised by the Boekhorst delisting ..just thought he may have been getting his act into gear with his great game against the Hawks .

I'm really disappointed by this one

Those last 3 games he was in my best.

He wasn't soft at all in those matches either.

Yep, good backup for that position as required for the list. Wouldn’t be surprised if we go for another in the draft.

Hunter Clark could fill the void with midfielder duties too.

See who else is coming in from the DFA’s, think there’ll be another (still nothing in A.Miles signing on yet?), Tom Lamb for mine if all above board.

Hopefully a Cat B signing too.

Me likeys Hunter Clark - skill and healthy dose of mongrel.

My teamboard's up to date (and in my sig) for anyone who needs it. Going to have to construct a HTML version at some stage given how hard they are sunsetting Adobe Flash.

Here's a look at a possible 22 using our current list:

FB: Plowman Jones Marchbank
HB: Docherty Weitering Byrne
C: Lang Murphy Cuningham
HF: Petrevski-Seton C.Curnow Fisher
FF: J.Silvagni McKay Pickett

R: Kreuzer Cripps Kennedy

Int: Williamson, E.Curnow, Thomas, Simpson

Leaving the following VFL line-up:

FB: Macreadie A.Silvagni Glass-McCasker
HB: <small defender> Rowe <small-to-medium defender>
C: Polson Kerridge <outside-capable mid>
HF: Wright Kerr Lamb
FF: <tall/medium utility> Casboult LeBois

R: Lobbe <inside mid> Graham

Int: Phillips, <genuine mid>, <attacking midfield option>, <defensive midfield option>

In conclusion, after we sign Mullett, we're looking for mids. Just all the ****ing mids.

Will be interesting to see if we sign McDaid and maybe another Cat B rookie.

How can you not have Mullett in that side. He's a star!!

Very pleased with the delistings.

Whitey was a good servant. Provided a touch of muscle during an era when we have been an incredibly weak team. But his time is well and truly up. Boekhorst and Smedts were horrible. Twigs who could not take contact. There are tough twigs, eg Simmo, then there are twigs like our delisted duo and Hartung.

Mullet - well he aint ours yet. And he's definately a deckchair...but i'd take him over what we delisted by a nostril. And i'd take him over Hartung.

Have never understood how anyone saw anything in Boek. I guess it was just the navy jumper. When you're getting delisted in favour of Mullett or Matt Shaw, i guess that is the ultimate pricing point.

Is Mullet any good?
Kind of a cross between Tuohy and Armfield, except a left footer.

Pick 3 (LDU)
Pick 10 (Coffield)
Pick 30 (Fogarty)
Pick 73 (Ryan)
Mullett (DFA)
Stavrou
Sumner
??????
McDaid
Penrith
I'm thinking we won't touch Stavrou, and we'll be chasing at least one more DFA. Oxley or Clayton might appeal as utilities, but that's just off the top of my head.

They might take a chance on Tom Lamb with a one year deal too.

2E is a good kick and Den Den isn't so guess that means Mullet is a soso kick.

BTW saw Den Den at Coles last week. No sheet he was buying coke, ice cream and white bread. Goodbye diet and fitness then. Maybe he was off to a BBQ.

Firstly, we don't yet know for certain that we have cut 13, until after the rookie draft.
Who knows. We may pick-up one or the two de-listees.

I still want to know why we're clearing contracted players. It's not as though we don't have to pay them out.
Their salaries still drop into next years TPP. Anyone have a real idea and not just of the "they're spuds" variety?
My best guess is there might be too many next year otherwise.
If the only changes next year are retirements of Rowe, Thomas and Simpson and we delist Kerridge and Graham, with say Lamb 50/50 to retain his spot then I think SOS might just have the list where we want it to be with a first rounder, two second rounders and 3 FS prospects next year.

Predict the Chat next year will be which FA we land, and whether Casboult or Jones move to another club during the trade period for an extra draft pick.

More like he has Armfield's toe poke passes when at full tilt, but he has Tuohy's precision from 50 when he gets the receive (but arguably more accurate, if not as booming a kick).

He's more defensively sound than Armfield, but not as much as Tuohy; he's got Armfield's running capacity, but closer to Tuohy's max pace. None of them are particularly agile, but certainly acceptable from an AFL perspective.

I'm guessing SOS has a few diamonds stashed away given all the cuts we are making. Another Polson.
Last year he had to manoeuvre Geelong out of the running to draft Cam.

Because Docherty could be an AA midfielder

Yes he could be. However Docherty is an AA HBF.

Gotta love the mystery box.
