Both milestones fall at the same time.

If both don't miss any games leading up to their milestones, it will be against Port in Rnd 15 at the MCG which is our home game.

Every Blues supporter within a 90min drive should make the effort to get there to toast those two lads.

It's not often you see a player get to 300-games.

We all accept that there is a plethora of talent now on the list but as supporters, we have to be patient in regards to seeing actual results. Young players take 2-3 years to reach 50-games, develop a strong aerobic tank and an AFL combatant physique.

The other thing to factor in is that players develop at different rates so they may not all "click" together which will setback the overall premiership thrust.

In 2018, all we need to see is further development of the game-plan and the players working harder together (ie: gelling), wins & losses are still some irrelevant. However, 2019 is a completely different case.
I actually see wins important this year! I don’t expect finals but I’m hoping for 7-10 wins. Need to start building a winning culture

Yes, it does not matter we traded away 95 for Lobbe as our next pick after 73 will not be too far given a lot of passes start happening in 70's and 80's anyway.

Even our pick 73 might be shifted up to the late 60's if some father-son and academy bids push back some picks from mid draft to after our 73.

What fascinates me in last 24 hours is learning the rookie list players can play seniors (apart from category B ones) so we got 44 players to pick and really the rookie draft in effect ends up being the draft continues after pick 80's on another day. The old 38/6 split or 40/4 is almost irrelevant now apart from cost purposes.

Not sure why they’re continuing with the rookie draft considering the rule change, doesn’t make sense to me but I’m sure there’s a reason

I agree, we need to win games to teach our player how and also show potential FA we are heading in the right direction. If you look at Paul Roos blueprint at Melbourne the first 2 years he taught the player how to defend and Bolton has done that and in the 3rd year Roos taught Melbourne to winner. (Yes it went pear shaped under Goodwin but they has a bad run with injuries but still improved) we will be more attacking next year and we will win games and kick over 100 points.

I'm not advocating for Doc to go into the midfield, but Nathan Buckley described Doc as "essentially a midfielder that just plays down back" during the year before we played Collingwood, so if he is thinking that it's obviously crossed Boltons mind.
Compared to the way Buckley played, he's not wrong.

Denis Pagan, is that you?

I've got this great revolutionary idea. We'll play him as our lone forward with the other 17 players playing to the half forward line at most .... they'll call it a paddock because of all the space he will have.

What is a known known is that this is just your opinion, and we all have different views.

I'm personally excited for 2019 and beyond as we are actually doing something we have never done before, that is build a young list from the draft and trade period and develop the players and gameplan

I am bullish for the following reasons;

1. The only player of any note that will not be on our list in 2019 is Simpson
2. Murphy and Kruezer will still be around playing good football
3 Docherty and Cripps will be terrific leaders and are already genuine elite players
4 The 4 rising stars from this year will be in there 3-4 seasons and all could be elite by 2019
5 We will have the best defense in the comp by 2019. Weitering/ Jones/ Marchbank/ Doc/ Plowman/ Byrne. They would have had 3-4 years together
6 We have traded in smartly with Kennedy and Lang, the AFL has not seen the best of these guys
7 the 2017 draft will help round out our midfield and forward depth
8 we will target a big FA in 2018
9 well placed in the 2018 draft for more elite talent
10 the following players have significant upside and will be much better players with a further 2 years of football. Curnow, Pickett, Marchbank, Kennedy, Lang, Weitering, Seton, Fisher, McKay, Cunningham, Williamson, Silvagni, Macreadie, Plowman. All of these players are either in front of the curve or shown significant glimpses of potential
Fair enough, RB. Nice rebuttal :thumbsu:

Looking at it the way I did, it was the age profile of our list (in 2020) that worried me most, and raised too many question marks for mine
