Elton has managed to stay on Richmond's list for 6 years and has played just the 10 senior games, including 6 this year.

I'd say his manager has done a great job convincing the Tigers to keep him on for as long as they have.

Even Luke O'Sullivan thinks Elton's been kept on the list too long....

Vickery and Mayne got band 3 last year and Cas could potentially get a better offer and may sneak into band 2, which would give us two 1st rounders, to send to GWS for Josh Kelly.
Probably slightly unrealistic, but we can dream.
No chance he would be band 2. With where we are likely to finish on the ladder, the difference between band 2 and 3 is probably a couple of picks, I think he should get band 3 if he is in fact being offered 4 years.

Not real happy with Levi wanting out after all we did selecting him very late and maturing him into the great mark he is today and these blokes are hard to find in the AFL these days.

It just seems we put all the hard work and background into big bodied players and then they want to leave us when they are close to their prime i.e Sam Jacobs also.

Watch Levi kill us every time we play the Tigers now and he also leaves a void in back up ruck duties and Matty K needs help. We are going to still have a lot of holes to fill with only so many picks in the draft this season which is reported to be very weak.

AFL will screw us on compo as well i reckon.
Meh, this is his last chance at a good contract before having to enter the real world. Good luck to him.

I'm sure SOS won't be shedding any tears if he can extract a second round pick for him.

I know this is asking for a lot, but can we say that Carlton should get a first round compo pick for Levi.
Melbourne got one for James Frawley when he went to the Hawks and he surely wasn't worth one.

Let's back-track to 2016: Ty Vickery - tier 2 key forward - netted a $500k x 2 year deal and earned Richmond Band 3 (2nd Round Pick) compensation.

Whilst the cap has gone up 20%, having the same money on the table; being a similar player; and having a deal twice as long (reported to be 4 years) for a total deal worth $2 million - I'd say the AFL will (and absolutely should) give us Band 3 compo i.e. in place of our traded 2nd round pick ~19/20.
Vickery's deal was heavily inflated because he was a RFA. Hawthorn wanted to get him without having to trade for him and effectively paid for the privilege. Levi is just a FA from my understanding. However, because of the new CBA and Levi having a good year I can see Livi getting a similar contract.

Unfortunately the two aren't really comparable.

Melbourne definitely got an excellent deal for Frawley, but he's a better footballer than Casboult ever has been.

We can say as we wish...but it's not going to happen. No way.

Jeremias whilst that might be true that Frawley is a better footballer that is not part of the compensation formula

Although the extra TPP will work against us if he leaves via FA

Frawley was originally a 1st rd draft pick, unlike Cazz who was a rookie selection.

What did the tigers get for Vickery
