How'd he go? Generally when I have seen the VFL the 23rd man has been pretty meh not sure I remember seeing him, you seem to like him though how old is he?

Played well for VC too yeah? Same paton? If so he looks good wouldn't say he is on the same level of pace as Barry who is electric.

Ok my mail today is that I think the following will happen;
1 - Rayner
2 - LDU
3 - Dow
4 - Brayshaw
5 - onwards not sure but Freo likely take Cerra

Also seems likely that Fogarty and Stephenson will slide. I know 2 clubs have put a line through Stephenson. The knock on Fogarty is what role will he play. Not a great runner so midfield is out.

Chance LDU slides as there is a feeling that whilst best is v good the difference between best and worst is reasonable. If he doesn't get #2 then he could be at #4 or 5.

Liam Ryan very unlikely to not get taken by WCE. Clubs aren't 100% sure on his ability / want to stay interstate.

Lach Fogarty may go pick 11, more likely if Bonar gone.

Will update the phantom shortly as well as some other moves i might make based on some of the feedback thats changed my view on a few.

Only to watch Stephenson become the Judd or Selwood of this draft over the coming years if he stays healthy.

Given his U18 performances, speed, endurance base and the highlights reel he just screams pick me.

He's D Thomas 2.0 for mine.

If someone values him before pick 38 that’s his worth, only worth what someone is willing to give up. We may not be prepared to offer that, so not worth that to us.

Teams maybe happy to take a gamble at that draft range to force our hands, if so I hope that our recruiters don't feel pressured into blinking and take him on merit rather then anything related to his FS status. If it is on merit then so be it.

Recruiters haven’t seen him play on his meds yet, so it’s very much buyer beware because there’s no guarantee he’ll be the same player we saw during this year when he was undiagnosed and not on medication.

He was good. He’s 19 but was All Australian this year in the back pocket. Definitely has his fans on here.

Have seen that we are sniffing around Barry along with Essendon and Hawthorn.

Agree, let’s hope we get the call right and we can look back in Hindsight and the right call was made.

I enjoy the whole Father Son tradition, I’m OK paying a fair price but would prefer a bargain that F&S can generate. We did OK with Moore, possibly a top 5 contender in an open market.

So getting pick 70 and giving up next years second to the swans was pure brilliance from the club then.
I'm sure there must be something that I don't quite understand here, but if your info is correct then how people can say our club isn't incompetent is beyond me.
Give up a 2nd round pick for a rookie and get a pick you can't use in exchange. Am I understanding this correctly.

The whole Murray thing has been done to death, so I'll let that go to the keeper.

Separately clubs often give token picks like we got for Marley Williams to facilitate the trade and say get Williams to the club of his choice.

There may be some minuscule points for a club but mainly it's used as a token to formalise trading players.
Happens a lot.

Essentially Murray is ours for a drop in draft order next year from mid range of about 20 to 30 spots.
The argument about the merits of mid range is a whole other matter that's been over indulged in my view.

Only time will tell whether dropping from mid range by 20 to 30 spots is a good or poor price.

I doubt it given the confidential nature surrounding a medical condition.

More likely just people taking a guess some of whom might be educated.

Still unless his specific illness has been disclosed publicly and the common treatment methods known it remains a hypothetical what possible side affects he may suffer.

An article posted just a couple of days ago stated that his heart condition wasn't picked up until the AFL draft combine. No specific mention in regards to the nature of the condition was made.
