I'm reasonably sure that only GWS and Essendon won their games after playing us. Though I'm not going to read anything into that, it could just be a coincidence. Both teams who played us and won have lost the next week.
Will be a tough test for us. I don think we ever play them well. Freo will be well into the 8 tonight and 1 game behind us.
And reportedly very ordinary in a Peel Thunder side that absolutely dominated the Perth Demons 123 - 33. interestingly SA draftee Brennan Cox had an enormous game in the same game.Expect Ballantyne to be around the mark for next week having played WAFL
Freo will need to probably kick their highest score of the year to beat us next week
I can't see it happening
Dennis Cometti reckons it's the best midfield in the Comp and he's a pretty good judge IMO. Rory better be preparing for Connor Blakely to be in his back pocket already.Freo will not be easy, this is a big test.
Well coached and capable of clogging us up.
A quality midfield full of big bodies and ball winners, exactly what we don't match well against.
The Dockers boast a midfield of Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe, as well as Lachie Neale, Stephen Hill, David Mundy and the recent additions of Michael Walters, Brad Hill, Connor Blakely and Lachie Weller. It's helped them to a 6-3 start, fifth on the ladder and one game off top spot. Cometti explained why. "They're just bigger and stronger, I think," he said. Andrew Embley singled out Blakely as an impressive player. "Fremantle at the moment have got some really good, strong bodies inside," he said. "Connor Blakely's a guy that I really like at the moment because he can play two roles for you: he can go to the best opposition midfielder and shut him down, but also different to maybe a Ryan Crowley where he can actually find a lot of football himself as well."
not just cooked, probably boiled or flambayedI hope Ballantyne plays, I reckon he's cooked
They're far from the best individually but they work well as a unit. Plus they do get a nice armchair ride every week.Dennis Cometti reckons it's the best midfield in the Comp and he's a pretty good judge IMO. Rory better be preparing for Connor Blakely to be in his back pocket already.
