I dunno. I can see Geelong scrubbing and Port getting the win.

I didn't realize that Geelong's games had been all away until last weekend. Therefore, I expect them to go on a home winning run now, unfortunately. Port will be their first victim, followed by us. I think the game is to keep our margin lower than Port's.

Not entirely true. They've had 2 home games at Etihad and 1 at MCG

I can't really do it justice, just suffice it to say it was hilarious. ;) He was supposed to go... but decided he'd rather not. Also went on to mention us getting the sponsorship $$$ for China Airlines and that Port had made a bid for it too.

Backed the wrong pony - again - it seems!

Could have gone AFLW ( well they said they were and then didn't

...)

- but no - off to the Orient they go.
Cathay lost $74 mill and are sacking 600 employees ...

Could have had China Southern if *ockhart Road is to be believed but no
Went with Cathay....

"Cathay has been facing tough competition from Chinese and Middle Eastern airlines that have expanded rapidly in the Asia Pacific region."

Seems Port have another sponsor that is losing money !
Lucky they just gave Port free flights !

(Your not talking about OneGreatClub are you ?:D)

OK. Is that forced by the AFL? Why would they agree to this and throw away their enormous advantage, or is it only an advantage against interstate teams?

The smaller crowd teams in Melbourne are the ones that are sent to Kardina Park to play. Last year these are the teams they played there:
Demons, Bulldogs, Crows, Swans, Giants, Eagles, Suns, and Lions

All the interstate teams and Bulldogs and Demons as the only Melbourne-based teams. The year before they have three Melbourne-based teams, Bulldogs, Demons and Kangaroos. In 2014 Saints were one of those sent there along with the Kangaroos and Bulldogs. Keep going back and it's the same Melbourne teams over and over again down there.

Hopefully the Cats & Port smash each other this week...

I like bits and pieces.

Spill.

I asked was it very hot ?
He said "kind of "
She said "**** off - it was hot humid and we had no shade "
I asked what about the "trade show?"
He said
"Yes it was ok"

but they reckon they could have stayed home and gone to the Clare Gourmet Weekend.

I said " surely the footy was good-you won by shitloads"
He said "yeah it was ok"
She said " they should have sent a team that wanted to play"

In between "Shanghai was great" and "it was a historic occasion "

I said "sounds like you had a ball!"
He said "yeah .."
She rolled her eyes ...

What's wrong with Darcy's face?

Was it really sufficiently significant to be considered "historic"? For something to be historic it needs to be important enough that it becomes memorable. Will anybody remember or care about this game in ten or twenty years time? Just because something happened and it was a first, doesn't make it historic.

If that happens I'll be off Geelong for the flag. They've just had 3 shit weeks and then played really well against the Dogs. If they revert back to being shit then they're kidding themselves about this year.

I agree. The number of people that actually give a **** is what makes something historic.

I didn't have the heart to start up on that though.

We used to all go to all matches until Adelaide's Oval.
We only go to Crows games now and they only go to Port matches.

They're great friends and give as good as they get, but it seemed that the old " history in the making" is the excuse for going. They're not going again.

They had seats (proper ones) but the money it cost them - well, she kept saying "could have gone to Paris ".

Ridiculous that the 'big' Victorian clubs have avoided Kardinia Park for so long. Makes a mockery of the 'equality' mantra.

It's not ridiculous at all. What would be ridiculous is playing Geelong vs Collingwood at that Siberian wasteland and having thirty thousand extra people who can't fit in. There'd be a mutiny, and rightly so.
It's not "unequal" to source a bigger ground for those times you would otherwise overspill your home - and you can guarantee the Cats enjoy the extra ticket sales and the extra practice at the G. Fans win, club wins. I have no problem with it.
