GWS are clearly ripe for the plucking, but Richmond being Richmond. In the second, they gave GWS their goals and kicked points with their own shots. I couldn't help thinking as they kept kicking points that they have lost the game right there. I hope I'm wrong.

Well, it looks like I was right.
And, furthermore, they did the same RS goalkicking in the last to absolutely underline that they didn't want to put GWS away. The thrilling finale was just the exclamation point: the match was lost much earlier.

Tom Mitchell had 50 touches. 11th best on ground according to Champion Data.

Mitchell is like Matt Crouch, an inside mid who is a feeder rather than a finisher. You need quality finishers around players like that in order to get the maximum benefit from them.

When he was playing for Sydney he had guys like Kennedy and Hannebury to feed the ball to, but at the moment Hawthorn don't have the cattle in the midfield so it's not going to matter how many possessions Mitchell gets.

300. So 6 metres per possession?

It's actually hard to believe someone had 50 disposals, including 22 kicks, but only had 5 clearances, 3 inside 50s and 2 rebound 50s

Curtly Hampton had 4 clearances, 1 rebound 50 and 2 inside 50s from 9 touches and 46% TOG

Matt actually has some finishing ability though.
